My wife and I were looking for somewhere to eat later in the evening and decided to give Mr. Chuan a try. The restaurant wasn’t particularly full when we arrived, but somehow it was unbelievably loud — not just lively, but the kind of loud where you start wondering how the room is producing that much noise. That aside, the service was friendly and efficient, and the food arrived piping hot. Everything we tried was tasty, with good portions and solid flavours. Overall, the food and service were both good, but the noise level really affected the experience for me. I’m not ruling out another visit, but I’m not in a hurry to go back either.

Mr. Chuan has become one of our favourite restaurants in Montreal, and we visit almost every week. When you return to a restaurant this regularly, you get a good sense of its consistency—and that is exactly what makes this place stand out to us. The food is always fresh, flavourful, and well prepared, with a level of quality that keeps us looking forward to our next visit. In our opinion, it is one of the best places in the city for northeastern Chinese cuisine. What we appreciate most is that the food continues to meet our expectations week after week. A great first visit is memorable, but being able to come back regularly and enjoy your meal just as much is what turns a restaurant into a favourite. The photos show some of the dishes we have enjoyed during our visits. Having several dishes on the table and sharing them is a big part of what we love about eating here. The variety makes the meal enjoyable, and it gives us plenty of reasons to keep coming back. Freshness and consistency are the two things we would highlight above everything else. We want a restaurant where we can feel confident about the food each time we visit, and Mr. Chuan has earned that confidence through our own experience. It has become a regular part of our week because we genuinely enjoy eating here. For anyone who enjoys northeastern Chinese cuisine, or is interested in trying it, this is a restaurant we would happily recommend. With so many places to eat in Montreal, the fact that we choose to return almost every week says a lot. Thank you to the team for maintaining the quality that makes us keep coming back. We are already looking forward to our next meal!

Restaurant Mr. Chuan is the kind of place that makes you feel comforted from the first bite. The food is full of heart—flavorful, satisfying, and made with that authentic Chinese taste that brings back memories of home. Every dish we tried felt carefully prepared, with rich seasoning and generous portions. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service made the whole experience even better. It’s not just a meal; it feels like a place where good food, good people, and good moments come together. Definitely a restaurant I would happily return to and recommend.

Second time I’m ordering on uber eats during opening hours and when I arrive to pick up my food, the restaurant is closed. I ordered at around 20:15 which is 45 minutes before they supposedly close but in the end I had to cancel my order. Very unprofessional, at least update your business hours to your real ones instead of wasting your customers time and energy. Would not recommend ordering from this restaurant

I cannot believe that they let everyone else pass in front of us! We had a reservation just like everyone else and they did no care. I am half chinese as well so I could understand what they were doing, and it is unacceptable to filter people by their race(I am half black). Other than that the food was okay.
