This is such a special restaurant! There is an amazing variety of Bengali food. It is healthy, tasty and made with love. It’s easy to find vegetarian/vegan options. Moon is such a talented chef and so kind.

This is as authentic as it gets for Bengali food. It’s the best bang for the buck. It reminds you of Bangladesh, where the chairs and ambiance isn’t so great but the food makes up for everything. The roast pulao reminds you exactly of what a traditional Bengali wedding. It’s rich and creamy and filling with the fragrant pulao rice. Will be definitely coming back for more and recommend this spot.

The food was AMAZING and the service and prices were great!! We shared a bunch of stuff, and the roast polao was my favorite! We also got free rice pudding! Overall I highly recommend!!

I went to Moon Star restaurant on my short visit to Montreal from Toronto. I must say their food blew me away. Every dish we ordered had an authentic Bangladeshi taste: no fusion, no mixes no shortcuts. Moon Apu is incredible, her hospitality was beyond amazing. To top it all, she gave me a box of piyaju on the house for my way home to Toronto. If you are in Montreal and wanting to try authentic Bangladeshi cuisine….dont think twice just try this gem out! Recommended Dishes: Roast Polao, Kichuri, Teheri and Borhani.

I've been here twice. First time was life-changing. Not to be dramatic. I was craving chicken and rice and got exactly that. Roast Polao. I savoured every bite and couldn't stop thinking about it. I really enjoyed how it felt like a home-cooked meal prepared just for me. The portion size filled me up haha The staff are warm and the environment feels safe. Like I'm traveling somewhere and just popped in for a bit to eat. Definitely worth trying! Thank you, Moon Z

Very good food. Fresh and yummy. The new Malai chicken is the best item. We ordered half chicken tandoori, lamb kabab, beef tikka, Malai chicken. All tastes really good. Took some take aways too- lamb kabab, Beef tehari and malai chicken. Beef tehari tasted awesome. Service is good, very friendly. Best part is the price is very reasonable and the portion is big. Good food with large portion but less proce than other places for authentic Bangladeshi food. Loved it. Will go again if we come to this city again. Or passing by. All the best to the moon star team.

I can't believe how amazing the food was here. Original Bangladeshi taste. Felt like I was back home. Super cheap as well. I don't know if there is any other restaurant that opens so early and stay open until so late as well like Moon Star!!?

After a long time, I finally had a truly satisfying meal. The food was exceptional—both in quantity and quality. The owners treated us with such warmth and care, it felt less like dining at a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a family home. Trying their food took me back to when I went to visit Dhaka, Bangladesh for a couple of months. Excellent service and very welcoming! Portions are generous! We had their Beef Tehari, Chicken Curry, with the side dish Allo Bhorta, Begun Bhorta, and Sutki Bhorta. All very tasty and delicious, spicy, and authentic!
