Delicious! Creative fusion food, with a beautiful dining room with cozy seating arrangements especially for couples. Food was served to the table with searing stones to finish the sizzling to your liking. Highly recommend. Very reasonably priced.
Very expensive and the person serving us was a bit too friendly. The portions are small medium. Cooking some of your food on a hot volcanic slab is very inventive and effectjve and adds to the atmosphere. We were two and a group of 8 was nearby..I imagine when this place is full it must be very noisy.
We ending up eating here because other restaurants had long wait times and this was our last meal in Percé and we were tired of seafood. The restaurant was fairly quiet but the service was still slow. We waited at the entrance to be seated but no one came so the hotel receptionist seated us instead. Once we did order, the food was slow to arrive, which was a bit strange considering one of us got the volcanic stone and would essentially be cooking the food ourself. I got the prime rib, which was fine. The only standout thing about the dish was that the portion was huge. My partner's meal was fine but the vegetables that came with his meal were very under seasoned compared to mine. Overall, I would only recommend this restaurant for the large portions.
Enjoyed our breakfast at the Volcano Grill on Aug 31st. Staff were very professional and were prompt to refill our coffees! Food arrived very quickly which was nice and diced potatoes were piping hot! Very relaxing atmosphere with nice views.
This was a terrible dining experience. I am not one to complain or leave reviews, but in this instance I feel it is must. This is a mediocre restaurant at best, that is trying to justify their higher prices by pretending to be higher end. (Large dead bug on window ledge beside our table, wrinkled table cloths, disposable napkins, waiter's pant cuffs and shoes were muddy/soiled). To start, the waiter brought my partner water, ran out and said he'd be back to fill my glass, but never did. I ordered the new york steak. The $55 steak was fine. Not good, not bad, just there, served on a bed of cold fries (the only option) aside overcooked vegetables. My partner ordered the prime rib, medium well. His meal was served medium rare. The prime rib was about 2/3's fat and grissle. My partner can't drink alcohol, so we ordered non alcoholic beer. They were out of stock so we had juice. At the end of the meal the chef came over to ask how our meal was. I gave him polite but honest feedback. A minute later he addressed all the other tables loudly in French to which everyone in the restaurant laughed. Several times throughout our meal he spoke in french and gestured to our table and on occasion to one other. I found it quite rude. First time ever I havent tipped at a restaurant.
I found this to be overpriced and not very tasty, the mojitos were the worst my husband and I ever tasted, the service was slow(but they warn you) AND they said the chocolate mousse was gluten free, and it wasn’t, but the view on the terrace is beautiful. Do not order the shrimp avocado mango salad. It was one shrimp cut in four in half of an avocado shell- no exaggeration! They didn’t even include all the avocado meat of that half. That was a complete rip off. I ordered the scallops on the hot stone. They originally gave me 4.5 scallops. They give you so called sriracha butter, but I couldn’t taste any heat (tried to get the red stuff on the bottom) and the butter never hardened at all (and it wasn’t on the stone.) I complained early in the meal about the 4.5 scallops, and at the end of our dinner, they gave me two more scallops. It was a good meal for someone who has an ulcer. My husband had a decent sausage dish. The final straw was when the waitress brought the chocolate mousse CAKE and said it wasn’t gluten free afterall, I could eat the top. We said flat out, no.
What an absolute gem! Perfect location, excellent service and a wonderful dining experience. The food quality was excellent: I ordered the filet mignon, and it was the best I've had in decades. My wife ordered the Seafood Trio, and the scallops, shrimp and lobster were all equally high-quality and delicious. The menu offers a variety of meat and seafood choices, but the real fun comes from choosing the ones you cook at the table, on pre-heated volcanic stone - - hence the restaurant name. Our server was lovely and attentive. We met the owner, Frank, and he is justifiably proud of what he's created. Go!
