Excellent place for a special occasion. And perfect after hitting up the Spa!
I have been to Les Fougères many times before. Former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ate there with his then wife. It has been awhile since my last visit. Each of my previous visits were thoroughly enjoyable, including once where we sat at the bar and ate, and chatted with the chef. I went with high expectations, but sadly, was disappointed this time. I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, the Duo of Duck, Duck Breast, Braised Duck, and Fois Gras Croquette, Swiss Chard, Parsnip, and Spruce tip Duck Jus at $46. It was okay, but it didn't wow. I got two measly strips of julienne parsely, a blob of mild Swiss Chard, a croquette that fell apart with the slightest touch of which I couldn't taste the fois gras. Everything seem bland and the taste never popped. I wished that I had ordered the Duck Confit. One of our group ordered Pan Roasted Black Cod with white beans, broccolini and sea asparagus, and declared that it was tasty, and delicious and worthy. Two out of four of our group was still hungry because of the portion size, so we ordered dessert. I ordered the Pouding chômeur and I have to say it was fabulous. It was a generous serving, tasty and bathed in maple syrup like it should be. So what to say? I was disappointed, and so was another member of our group. The other two were satisfied. The restaurant was quite noisy, and the white chairs look like they came from a high school cafeteria, but they were comfortable. I am only giving it three stars, because for the amount of money the meal cost, it was a disappointment in some respects. The service was impeccable and the staff is very well trained. The jury is still out if we return any time soon.
Great food, but a bit pricey.
Booked for a group of 13 on a Saturday and we all had an excellent time! We had multiple dietary restrictions and they were incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable about their menu. The server was friendly and helpful, talking in depth about the wine pairings & wine menu. We did a set menu and every bite of food was excellent!
I went here on Easter weekend it was very good. I had the halibut which was very tender and my fiance had the duck which was perfect. We went right at open and they were great hosts. Definitely worth a visit during better weather as they have a wonderful green space behind the restaurant. They also have a great store with take home items and homemade jams and honey etc. Worth a visit.
Excellent meal all throughout. Great service, drinks, food, everything was really nice The food is all thoughtful, good portions, quality ingredients, and a nice variety. The cocktails were creative and tasty, and the wine we order was delicious
This restaurant was amazing. Just a bit further away than the other Chelsea restaurants, this one is an interesting on to explore. The menu brings a nice vibe of mix Canadian mix French food. Everything I tried was delightful. I recommend!
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Celebrated Valentine's here on the following Saturday. Everything was terrific for service. And, we had a minor mistake with a dessert sent to the table but the kitchen comp'd it. Would love to come back in summer again. Food was delicious, well presented, well explained by the servers, and just unique in composition. The oysters for Harrison were a nice touch to do something positive for a cause such as mental health. Honestly, blown away by the overall experience. Not many places like this exist anymore.
We had a delicious meal here, sharing the bread, eggplant and beet appetizers. Three of us enjoyed the fish special and one of us enjoyed the duck. The food was really good! As was the service. My gin and cranberry cocktail was too sweet to be considered balanced, however the recommended wine bottle paired well with our food. Overall we all liked the place and would certainly return if in town again and looking for a nicer dinner option.
