We are staying nearby and we were looking for a place our family would enjoy. We were welcomed by Thomas, who had fantastic food and drink recommendations. We arrived at about 5:30pm so some items were not available; however still lots of dishes to choose from. Kids loved their food, the vegetarian in our party really enjoyed the Shakshouka. I had the Poutine Classique and for me, hands down the best Poutine I've ever had. A welcome comfort food on a cold evening. Dessert was a blackberry chocolate cake, also incredible. Our entire experience was such a warm and generous "Bievenue". 10/10!

Our server was amazing. Very good with his English answered all our questions and was very helpful with directions. His food recommendations were spot on it was excellent. Definitely a must try
Visiting for the winter carnival and stumbled upon this gem. The food and drinks were excellent. Our server Thomas was also outstanding, not only providing us with exceptional service but also some local knowledge. See you again soon!
A group of 5 of us had an excellent dinner here during Carnival. The service was over the top - friendly, attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The Ragout de Poulet was the perfect meal on a cold evening. The only minor negative is the building which isn't great but the atmosphere created by the staff more than makes up for that. Highly recommend.
We’re in town from Ontario for the last weekend of Bonhomme Carnaval. It was Valentine’s Day, and after a long walk through the festivities, our girls, my husband and I were starving. We wandered a little more and came across this charming little spot with no one inside — Le Renversant. We were immediately greeted by a lovely lady who warmly invited us in. We liked the vibe right away and were happy to stay. My phone had completely died, and I realized I didn’t have the right charger with me. When I asked if anyone happened to have the correct connector, she brought over a kind gentleman who offered to charge my phone for me. That alone set the tone. We were handed the menus, and that same gentleman returned to share his recommendations. His service was so attentive and genuine that my husband, our girls, and I asked for his name. While chatting with the sweet lady at the front, we learned she was helping at her son’s restaurant — and the gentleman? He’s the owner. Her son: Thomas. We ordered jalapeño poppers, pasta carbonara, steak frites, pork chop with frites, and magret de canard with mashed potatoes. We shared everything as a family and enjoyed a few rounds of drinks. Thomas came by several times to check on us, addressed our little girls by their first names, and truly made them feel included. They were impressed — and that says a lot. By the end of the night, we didn’t feel like customers. We felt like guests at a friend’s restaurant. We were sent off with warm words, hugs, high fives, and genuine smiles. That’s also why there are no food pictures with this post — my phone was charging the entire time. But what I couldn’t capture in photos, I hope I captured here. If I could give more stars, I would. Thank you, Thomas, Mom, and the whole team at Le Renversant. You made our trip. ❤️
Cute little restaurant, super friendly staff, and great food!!
My fiancée and I went here for a late lunch while visiting the city and it was amazing. Owners were super friendly, service was great, and the food was soooooo good. We heard the fish and chips were great and they very much were. Also had the brie and the shakshuka and they were both fantastic. So much care was put into the dishes and making us feel welcome. If you get a chance definitely stop in.
Superb meal in quiet atmosphere. Dishes were freshly prepared and delicious. Likely the best meal I have ever enjoyed.Excellent, friendly service.
Fish and poutine was absolutely excellent!
I had a light dinner here after getting off the train from Montreal to Quebec City. The restaurant is quite close to both the train station and our hotel. We arrived about 1.5 hours before closing time, so some dishes on the menu were no longer available. We ordered the fish and chips (the restaurant’s best seller) and the steak salad. The salad was not very special to me, but the fish and chips were really good. The restaurant is small and cozy. The staff and chef are nice and relaxed. I really like the atmosphere here.
10/5 stars. Thomas provided exceptional service along with the rest of the kitchen and serving staff; they went above and beyond to ensure the experience was great. I ordered the fish and chips, it tasted great, absolutely meeting my expectations. I would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic meal and positive experience; great for a group of friends!
Went for supper with friends and had a great time! The staff and food was amazing, I highly recommend!!!
The restaurant felt very small town and felt like home, made us saskatchewaners feel like family. They had huge portions and the fish and chips was the best I have ever had. Also had the carbonara which came in a huge portion and ate it all.
Delicious food, excellent service and friendly staff. This place will not disappoint. A large group of us touring from Saskatchewan visited and tried a good portion of the menu. Perfection in every dish. Be sure to check this place out!
