I stayed at Kinipi for a few days and decided to try the restaurant for dinner. The food was easily a 5-star experience. I ordered the rabbit, and it was delicious. After a long cycling event, I was very hungry and initially looked at the portion thinking, there is no way this is going to be enough. 😅 I was wrong. It was rich, flavourful and surprisingly satisfying. I paired it with a Cabernet Sauvignon, which worked beautifully with the dish. Dessert was the toffee-hazelnut cake with toffee ice cream, and it was the perfect ending—not overly large or heavy, just enough after the rabbit. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the food. My waiter wasn’t around very often, and I eventually had to get up to ask to order dessert and then again to request my bill. It was getting late, and after cycling earlier that day, I was more than ready for bed. More attentive service would have made a big difference. 5★ for the food, 4★ overall because of the service. The rabbit, wine pairing and dessert were excellent, and I would happily return.
