When reviewing places, my intention is never to hurt a business’s feelings. But when a person comes to a restaurant in hunger, don’t do it for the money. Give quality food with reasonable price. My family of 6 came to this restaurant yesterday in hunger from a drive from Toronto. We had high expectations after seeing some of the reviews and have came here many times before. Food was on point back then. But now, the food tastes like something that had no seasoning yet left a weird aftertaste. We were very disappointed after that meal especially after reading the receipt. In the future, I will make sure that we do not come here. Don’t play with the hungry for money. If anyone is looking for good, hot, fresh meals, please consider twice before coming here.
Reviews / Ratings for Restaurant Jolee
Absolutely ridiculous and disappointing. My family and I came all the way from Toronto and decided to come to this restaurant. All of us were hungry to have dinner that we mistakenly ordered 2 kotthu rotis, 2 appitizers (chilli chicken and chicken 65), and chicken noodles along with chicken puttu. As soon as we all had one bite from the appetizers, we knew we made a huge mistake. Right then and there we lost our appetite. For the chilli chicken, all the did was put hot sauce all over, and the chicken 65 was entirely bone. The kothu rotis, noddles, and puttu did not have any taste whatsoever. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
I am Sri Lankan, so I know the true cuisine and authenticity of Sri Lankan food. This restaurant started off pretty good,I used to be a regular here. However, over time, the quality has gone downhill. The side dishes at the entrance are often cold and lacking flavor. Dining in was an alright experience overall, but not what it used to be. If you come here, I would recommend sticking to the vegetarian options. The famous chicken and mutton kottu often have a burnt taste, almost as if they are constantly reheated on the grill, and they lack the rich flavor you would expect. I would also suggest avoiding the Indian dishes like butter chicken, biryani, or similar items, as they are disappointing as well. Sri Lankan food is known for its unique spices and the authenticity in every bite, which is why this experience was quite disappointing for me
The very generous owners and chefs at Jolee donated a huge platter of samosas to our school teacher appreciation day. The samosas smelled so good and all the teachers raved about how delicious they were. Thank you so much for being such a great community business and for your kindness.
Always get mutton rolls here. Had cravings 5 minutes before they were closing tonight and they were most welcoming. Been going for years.
Good food reasonably priced
If you like flavor, spice, and good portion sizes for the price, this is the place for you! Came here with my family of 5 near closing, and still got the most hospitable, personalized service. Food was fresh, warm, and so tasty. They took their time with our orders, snd the girl at the front was also super friendly. Food was a 10/10 from all of us. Establishment was very clean. Plus, their entrees, mains, desserts, and the mango lassis are all delicious. We had mutton rolls, vegetarian thali, shrimp curry, beef kothu, a few lassis, and even ordered seconds of our mains for takeouts. Our total bill was much lower than we expected, so I’d 100% recommend coming here if you are on a budget or want some leftovers.
Lovely Jaffna Tamil flavors. So much of variety. Loved the fact they have Panaga Paniyaram.
Loved food here, good for pick up.
Restaurant Jolee catered my union's organizer training and everyone was so pleased. The food was packed with flavour, and everyone left extremely full and happy. Everything was very reasonably priced as well. They were very communicative, accommodating, and flexible. I would highly recommend Jolee for any catering and I hope to eat in the restaurant soon!
Great experience! The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly kind, and the service was amazing even close to closing time.
If you're looking to get a fix of well prepared Sri Lankan fare, this is the place to be.
good food, firendly service and reasonable prices. One of my favorites in Montreal.
It was filled with tasty food and had a good time eating there
The food was okay, but over priced. 2 regular roti 2 egg roti and 2 small curries $42.00 ??? Rip off!! It Doesn’t make sense!
