What guests say about Restaurant Gandhi
Restaurant Gandhi seems to be appreciated for its flavorful Indian cuisine, with several positive comments about well-seasoned dishes, vegetarian options, and generous portions. The service is often described as warm, attentive, and fast, but a few customers also report very long waits and inconsistent service. Some reviews mention high prices and small portions, so it may be worth going especially if you're looking for a welcoming and tasty Indian dining experience.

The food is great and Service is friendly.riendll
Restaurant Gandhi was excellent! The mutton curry was flavorful, tender, and perfectly spiced - definitely the highlight. Emon served us with a big smile and was attentive throughout. Great food + great service makes it a place I’d come back to. Highly recommended.

Amazing food!!
The food really light and not fatty. Recommend 100%
We arrived around 7pm on May 23. And here's a rough play-by-play of what happened: 7pm: They sat us at a table which was not fully set (only one knife total), then walked away. No menus, no waters, nothing. 7:10pm: They delivered a free starter then left. No menus or drinks still... 7:15pm: We had to ask for menus. 7:20pm: They finally came by to take our orders. 7:30pm: We had to ask for waters, because the starter was very sweet and we were parched. 7:35pm: My friend never got the soda she ordered, so she asked and they finally brought it. 8:05pm: My friend's food finally arrived, not mine. It arrived on a dirty cart with stains all over the top, and the plates had rice or something on them which needed wiped off by the server. They then asked what the rest of us ordered... The amount of food after such a long wait was laughably small, especially as we were starving and just talked about asking to pay for the soda and leave to get food elsewhere. 8:10pm: My food finally arrived. Also, as laughably small. The taste was not worth the wait, sadly :( Our shahi paneer tasted like Combos snacks, not like traditional Indian food or spices. And our friend's butter chicken tasted like "Finnish Christmas morning porridge" and had two bone-like pieces in it. I really hope this was a fluke and that the chef was just MIA or something. But, I wish I could have avoided paying CAD40 on this public-school-level lunch-sized meal :( We immediately went to get food elsewhere after finishing our food (well, after writing this review).
We waited 20 minutes to get the menus and another 50 to see our food. At around 40 minutes someone came to ask if we had ordered. When the food finally did come, it came with dirty plates and on a tray that was grimy. The food completely lacked flavor, or at most had the flavor of porridge. I was left utterly disappointed and hungry (as the food servings were also very small). The bill was unreasonably high so do yourself a favor and stay away.
Dated decor in desperate need of renovations, disappointing and terrible Indian food that we couldn’t finish and left us with stomach aches. The butter chicken was fluorescent orange and tasteless, the rice biryani was overcooked and not fresh. The only good thing was the service. I love Indian food. If you do too, avoid this tourist trap at all costs.
We had a wonderful experience here! The food presentation was fantastic, and the taste even better! Special shoutout to our wonderful server, Matthew! Thanks for having us New Yorkers!
Best Indian food in Montreal!
The food was ok and the experience was less. Overall, ok place to get Indian food but not highly recommended compared to other options. It's more expensive, worse service, and ok food.
We went their on our Anniversary and they have one of the tastiest Indian cuisine in Montreal. We had Dal tadka and Aloo gobhi in curry and Dal tadka remind me of “Maa k hath ka khana”. Must visit if you’re looking for authentic Indian 🍲
10/10. Best Indian we've eaten, staff are fantastic. Essential trip if you're in Montreal and craving Indian!
One of the best Indians I’ve ever had!! The Chicken Karahi was incredible. Thank you
Best indian food i’ve had Chef kiss !
Went for their 25 year anniversary. The food was amazing, the vibe was great, and it was an overall amazing experience. Will come back!
Very good food, Jain options available
We had the butter chicken dinner, one spicy, one mild. Both were delicious and satisfying. Nice, peaceful atmosphere and pleasant servers. We would definitely come here again if we lived in Montreal.
