Just came back from that restaurant.......We were a group of 18.....It is not the place for a group......Reservation at 6h00pm main course served at 7h50pm......CCould not talk to a server they were all over.......8h50 pm I think it's the owner came to the tables and wanted us to pay.......No time for a tea or somekind of dessert.....Not offer for a tea and wanting to het paid already, it never, but never happened to me before......We were a group of seniors. A very rude restaurant. If you do nor want a group of 18, just don't accept it............Very, very bad and rude experience....Food was ok..But the service 0000 ....Atmosphere is like a buffet style....
What guests say about Restaurant Emeraude de Bangkok
A Thai restaurant appreciated by part of its clientele, with several comments on the freshness of the dishes, good flavor, and service that is sometimes fast and friendly. However, other reviews mention portions seen as small, high prices, noise during busy hours, and uneven quality depending on the dish. Service is also often described as abrupt or overwhelmed, with longer waits when the dining room is full.

Very out of the way and good food
As you read many of my other reviews you will see that I rarely dislike Asian restaurants. Well, sorry to say, even though this place was highly recommended. I tend not to agree. When we entered the restaurant, it was full. Usually when a restaurant is so busy the food is really good. Right? Maybe I'm too picky and used to eating flavor packed food. We ordered the Combo Build Your Way menu. Included are 2 soups, 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, 1 vegetable and 2 steamed rice. What a great deal. We ordered 2 Hot and Sour soups which did not come to our table hot, so both were returned. Once they came back they were a bit warmer but still not hot. If you can get it hot, the soup was very tasty and not spicy. For our appetizers we ordered the Peanut Butter Dumplings and Fried Calamari. The dumplings were delicious, I wanted more, but the Calamari was overly battered and greasy. Our mains were Orange Beef and a Red Curry Chicken and the vegetable dish was the Basil Tofu with Mixed Vegetables. The beef was tender but heavily batter in a sweet sticky sauce but no orange flavor and not spicy. There were 2 tiny slivers of orange peel in the sauce. The Basil Tofu vegetables were tasteless but did contain a very nice variety of veggies. It needed a kick. It was supposed to be spicy but it was not at all. The Red Curry Chicken, onbtje other hand, was very flavorful and a bit spicy. The Curry with coconut milk helped enhance the flavor and give it a bit of kick. Very good. All in all, if the food would have been hotter instead of just warm, it may have been more enjoyable. I don't appreciate going to any restaurant and having to complain and return the food. Yes, sure it was a Saturday night, and they were busy, but really. Staff was sufficient but they didn't even approach us and ask if all was ok. Would I recommend this place? No Will I go back? Probably not.
I CALLED TO ORDER COMBO FOR ONE AND WHEN I WENT TO PICK it up THEY CHARGED ME AS IF IHAD ORDERED THE DISHES FROM THE MENU.
4/5 ⭐ Visited Restaurant Emeraude de Bangkok with a group of 5. The restaurant was completely full, which explains the longer wait times at the entrance and for the food. Part of the staff was also coming back from vacation, so the team was clearly very busy, but they stayed polite and professional the whole time. Once seated, the experience was good overall. The food was fresh, flavorful, and the portions were satisfying. The atmosphere was lively and you could tell the place is popular for a reason. If you’re patient and not in a rush, it’s still a solid place to enjoy Thai food with family or friends.
Ridiculous Management can’t be bothered to update their hours online and say they are closed came for nothing. Just a sign at the door when you show up. Won’t make the trip back for lack of respect.
Love this place BUT the portions are too small. Prices have gone up and portions have gone down. A plate of General Tao $20+ is not worth the amount you get on your plate. Getting several dishes…a family of 4 costs an average of $100 - and you don’t feel satisfied. It seems that they cater more to elderly people in the area. If they want their business to boom you need to attract Gen Z, millennials and Gen X - you need to make your portions worth while!
Food comes highly recommended by many for good reason. Has been in business a long time.
I've been going here for a decade and without a doubt, every time it's as good as the last. Bringing your own wine is always a plus and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. Highly recommended!
Fast service. Really good food.
Food is basic, the green curry beef was sweet and not at all spicy, very noisy on a Saturday night, waiters were on the go looked like they could use a dose of Prozac. It was ok for a night out with friends but you'll have a difficult time having a conversation. Pretty average. 2nd visit and it will be the last. Staff are unfriendly and never smile. Food this time was mediocre.
Just found out of this hidden gem in Dorval. 15 minutes from my house. Good service. Had the special for 2. Won Ton soup, Peanut Butter Dumplings, General Tao chicken, sauted vegetables and rice. You can bring your own wine. Easy to park. I will definitely return.
We have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed the food. On New Year's eve we made a reservation for 4 at 6:30. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were served our soup and appetizers and then we waited and waited for our main course. At 8:30 (2 hours after our arrival) we began to ask when we might expect to receive our main dishes. We were told that it was very busy and they were trying to serve the customers in the dining area as well as the take out. Shortly after that we said we would pay for what we had eaten and would be leaving. At 8:45 they began to serve our main meal. First, came the rice and vegetables and the plate of vegetables was about half the size we had in the past. By the time the meat portion of the meal arrived, we had either finished the vegetables or they were no longer warm. While we understand that it was a very busy evening, it probably would have been better if they had communicated with us the delay and expectations instead of us having to ask. As well, knowing that it is one of their busiest evenings, they might have considered hiring more staff or reducing the take out orders as it appeared they were struggling to handle both. On our way out another customer was leaving and he was complaining about the service as his experience was similar to ours. Very disappointing and, in all, it was a memorable evening but for all the wrong reasons.
Excellent dinner. Just really long for service. But it was new years eve and the takeout was probably overwhelming the kitchen. Will definitely go back on a quieter night.
