Very loud. You’re also seated quite closed to other guests. Had pizza (great) with lamb pasta (also great) with tiramisu (served with filtered coffee, do not recommend). All in all a decent experience, but don’t get the hype honestly.

We love this place, it’s one of the few places we take out of towners when they come to the city. When it’s busy, It’s very noisy, but otherwise it’s a great place to chat and eat with friends. They always have an alternative or two on the menu that’s tasty - but the pizza is why we go. You can get a spicy honey/ pepperoni pizza anywhere in town so don’t sleep on the other options. They’re the best ones! Big fan
2026: nice olives and bread to start, but would be nice if olive oil had a little balsamic. The suppli Al telefono were better than typical arancini. Funguy pizza was overflowing with mushrooms. The lamb pasta was delicious. Tiramisu tres leches was perfect, best of both desserts. My friend enjoyed her chocolate cannolis. Service was friendly. Suggested wine was great. Été something. Lighting could still be better, it felt dark rather than intimate. Maybe some fake candles? 2024: The Dany pizza was delicious and creative with the sesame spinach honey combo, but I didn't like how wet it was, like all the toppings just slide off as soon as you lift it up. The Gigi pasta was a interesting bitter mix of flavours with the fennel and arugula, but there was barely any sausage in it. Olive oil cake was nice but pretty dry compared to other olive cakes I've had. I know the cream+olive oil is there to compensate but it's not the same. Cannolis were delicious and well presented, available without the pistachios if you have an allergy. The Barbossa is a smooth young red wine accompaniment Service was very attentive and efficient. Glasses were never empty. Decor was typical modern industrial. If there was music, it wasn't memorable.
The team is phenomenal & the food doesn’t miss the mark. Unpretentious & well done, The best part of living in st Henri is being close to Elena.
Excellent poutine, simple space.
Interesting decor. Nice ambience. Food and service was very good. Seemed popular for locals. 3 pizzas and a pasta for 4 Enjoyed the wine we selected (bio /org list)
I don't think I've had a worse pizza in all of Montreal. Anyone who says this pizza is good should lose all credibility instantly. The crust is tasteless and dense, the sauce lacks flavour and the cheese is poor quality. It's also small and thin but not in a good way. The ceasar salad was great but for a pizzeria, this place is an embarrassement. Literally go anywhere else for pizza. And on a final point, this is an open kitchen and the cooks didn't have their hair properly covered - seeing a woman cook with a long, bushy pony tail does not meet my standards of kitchen hygiene.
A group of us came for my best friend’s 40th birthday and we all decided to go with the set menu! It was absolutely fantastic, we truly enjoyed ourselves and the service was on point. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Pizza is excellent as always! However the service was inattentive: our server came by only a few times. More importantly we asked for our leftover slices to be boxed up and they never gave us our pizza! I was looking forward to that but they clearly were trying to turn the table once we paid. That’s so bizarre and rude!
Fabulous pizza in a great setting. This place is always busy so be sure to make a reservation.
Reserved a seat for a small group a week in advance, only to be placed at the bar table right by the entrance door. The pizzas were pretty mediocre, burnt (not leoparding, just burnt and bitter) and the crust was dense and lacked air pockets, I’m quite sure the entire batch was under-proofed that day.
Elena offers simple Italian cuisine and a pleasant atmosphere, well suited for a casual night out. During my visit, everything was fine overall, but nothing really stood out, particularly the food, which I found fairly classic for the price. For a similar budget, I personally find that Moreiras delivers a richer dining experience and a noticeably warmer ambiance. That said, Elena remains a decent option depending on what you’re looking for
Went to Restaurant Elena with my husband for our 1-year wedding anniversary and we had a delightful dinner! The food was incredible very tasty and beautiful presentation. The service was great too! Our waitress was super sweet. We ordered the kale cesar salad, the bread, the suppli, patate pizza (amazing vegetarian option) and diavola pizza and the Basque cheesecake for dessert. We really look forward to coming back!!
The pizza there is fabulous. Like it's really good in taste and even the dip. One of the best pizzas I have ever had.
Wrote in the reservation notes that we we’re celebrating a birthday but it was a surprise. Immediately on arrival, the hostess mentioned the birthday (bummer). Barely any service, it took twenty minutes before I had to ask who I could order with. The waitress came by twice in the +2hours we were there and didn’t speak a word. Not one hi and did not check in to see if the food was okay. We honestly didn’t even know she spoke English until we asked for the bill. Our entire table works in service and we can all say that the servers go around looking at the tables but don’t actually speak to their clients unless its to collect their payment. We never tip less than 20% but tonight, tipping 15% felt wrong considering the only service we truly got was from the bartender (he took our order as well). Probably best as a takeout spot…..
I really enjoyed the Kale Ceasar Salad and the margarita pizza as well as the ragu pasta. The diavolo pizza I was disappointed by. The pastas are well executed!
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Although most people seem to go for the pizza, I go for the salads. Always fresh, well composed and delicious. They may look like a medium sized salad, but trust me there's a lot in that bowl. Only attempt to eat one yourself if you're super hungry. UPDATE: The loss of the back terrasse is sad. It was so much more pleasant than sitting in a terrasse in a reclaimed parking spot right next to Notre Dame St. Traffic. The white shop towels are sure to cover any dark clothing with a pile of white lint balls. What was a great kale Caesar now has an overly sharp dressing with way too much vinegar. Waiting 45 minutes for a pizza on a Tuesday night just after 5:00 in an empty restaurant is an unacceptable attempt to run a bar bill. Never again.
My second time going to the restaurant and I liked the experience again but I was not happy to see that they charge tip after tax. You have been in violation of the law for more than 6 months. There is no excuse in my book.
Cozy resto, excellent food and service
Super great ambience and food. Pasta and pizza are killers!!
Very and very low price service very good
10/10 atmosphere and food! The sourdough and kale caesar are unbeatable for kicking off a meal, and we had fun discovering some new wines. The Margherita, Dany, and Passion Patate pizzas were all incredible. Perfect “pizza night” way beyond typical.
I really wanted to like Elena, especially after seeing so many great reviews, but overall it fell a bit short for me. We started with the kale ceasar salad, which was quite salty, probably from all that Parmesan, so maybe that’s just how it’s meant to be. For pizzas, we tried two. The Amatriciana wasn’t really my thing, I didn’t like how the flavours came together, so it might have been a bad choice on my part. On the other hand, the pizza Dany was an expected delicious surprise: the spinach and hot honey were delicious; the sesame seeds a nice touch. That said, the dough on both pizzas was very good. The spicy oil, however, wasn’t spicy at all, which was a bit disappointing. Maybe they have different versions, but the one we got had no heat. One of us wanted a tea, but they don’t offer tea at all. For desert, I got a decaf latte to have with the cake, but it arrived way later, more than halfway through it. The cake itself, though, the hazelnut with the gelato…very good. Service was another weak point. The wait for everything was long, and at one point, the waitress came to clean the table, but just quickly wiped around without actually picking any of the pizza crumbs, which felt a bit careless. The place itself is beautiful, nicely dimmed lights and a great atmosphere visually, but the music felt too loud for this type of restaurant. All in all, I guess it wasn’t that bad of an experience, I definitely expected better given the hype. I might give it another try, but this visit didn’t quite live up to expectations.
Tasty food in a fun ambience with great service.
Great food. Great wine, solid beer and beautiful space. Will definitely be back
