We took our entire family to Dur à Cuire last night for what we hoped would be a nice meal out. What a massive disappointment. From start to finish, everything was horrible, overpriced, and left us all feeling sick afterward. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The problems started immediately. They brought out a baguette that had clearly just been yanked out of the freezer—still cold and stale—along with rock-hard frozen butter that was impossible to spread. It was embarrassing. The appetizers were equally bad. The beets and hummus were completely bland, like they had zero seasoning. The octopus entrée was an absolute disaster: burnt to a crisp, crunchy in the worst way, and basically inedible. The pierogi (or whatever they called it) tasted like a fried piece of ditch—completely lacking any flavor. The beef cheek was one of the strangest things I’ve ever had; it was overly sweet when it should have been a savory dish. The sweetness clashed horribly and ruined the whole plate. Service was nonexistent, and the kitchen seemed chaotic. We could see the cook on his phone the entire time—texting, scrolling, and even cooking himself food and eating while we sat there waiting far too long for our meals. No wonder everything came out so poorly. The prices were way too high for the quality (or lack thereof). We left hungry, disappointed, and unfortunately, the whole family ended up sick later that night. Food poisoning on top of a terrible dining experience is the last thing anyone needs. Save your money and your health—go somewhere else. Dur à Cuire is not worth it.

This place came highly recommended by friends but I was disappointed when I came here with my girlfriend for Valentine's day. The bread entrée I ordered was stale and dry almost like yesterday's bread, everything else we ordered was good but wasn't hot, just warm. Almost as if the food had been waiting on the counter for a good 10mins before coming out. Maybe I'd give it another chance eventually, but for a first time, I was quite disappointed...
Wow! Just left a wonderful dinner! Everything was delicious! Food was fantastic! I’ve been reading the reviews and they keep talking about the noise but honestly it was not that bad. It’s a comfortable and casual bistro and the noise level was on par with that. Not a quiet and peaceful restaurant instead a vibrant and delicious bistro. Not quiet but not so loud you cannot have a conversation! Highly recommended!
