What a gem this place is! The restaurant interior is beautiful and service outstanding. I was impressed by the attentiveness of the staff, something you don’t see often these days. The food was also delicious. Would return 10/10

ubered a scallopini boscaiola and Ferrero chocolate cake. The scallopini's sauce was truly awesome (cream, shallot, white wine a classic). The meat was excellent; it had a bit of texture but gave way easily. The cholate Ferrero cake was a fresh moist chocolate cake thoroughly enjoyable, but I did not find the Ferrero taste that I was expecting; it was very subtle. Nevertheless, an excellent chocolate cake.

Came from out of town to try this place after booking several weeks in advance, drawn in by the many positive reviews. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. We started with the charcuterie board, which included an underwhelming eggplant salad that tasted uncooked with 2 shaved Parmesan. The burrata salad was decent, but nothing memorable. For our mains, we ordered individual pastas, my seafood pasta, which I was especially excited about, ended up being a major letdown. No flavour, zero salt and extremely spicy. I’d strongly suggest the chef ease up on the chilli flakes or clearly indicate which dishes are spicy on the menu to avoid dissatisfaction moving forward. As a side note, in case you may be wondering if I’m sensitive to spice and a complainer, my sister ordered the alla puttanesca and that too was full of chilis and overwhelming spicy, and she loves a good spicy dish. While the music itself was lovely, it was played at such a high volume that it was difficult to have a conversation—even with someone sitting right next to you. It felt more like a nightclub than a dining experience. Overall, despite the promising reviews and anticipation, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. With some adjustments to the menu and atmosphere, it could be much more enjoyable, but as it stands, I wouldn’t rush back.

Love the lively atmosphere here. It was hard for us to find an Italian restaurant for a table of 8, so we found Corneli through Google Maps. The decor is beautiful. Love that they never rushed us. Food was comforting and came in big portions. We were looking forward for desserts but we got too full. My sister usually doesn’t like mussels but she loved them here :) Highly recommend this place for group celebrations.

What an amazing Italian meal! The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday evening at 7:45…we were greater immediately and seated in a lovely booth facing the street. Our server names Ryan made a couple of suggestions and we went with the lasagna and the Cornell pizza…oh, my goodness! They were so good! We enjoyed a bottle of Miraval rose..,a perfect compliment! The Italian music, the atmosphere and Ryan’s attention made for a perfect evening!

After a two-year break, I returned to Corneli on a Saturday night at around 7:30 PM and was blown away by the energy! If you want a quiet, intimate dinner, this isn't it! The place was packed to the gills with birthday parties and big families. It’s loud, it’s bustling, and it’s pure Montreal Italian vibes. The Highlights: • Service (Much Improved!): Huge shoutout to the staff. Despite every table being full, our waiter was attentive and prompt. I’ve never seen a team move so fast—they were literally running to keep up, and it worked! • The Food: We shared the Calamari, Cavatelli, and the Linguine Pescatori (see photo!). Everything was delicious: fresh seafood, perfectly cooked pasta, and the cocktails were also spot on. • Pro-Tip: You must book a table. We arrived at 7:30 PM and there wasn't a single free seat in the house. Bottom Line: If you’re looking for a high-energy spot for a group dinner or a celebratory night out, Corneli is back on my list. The seafood pasta alone is worth the noise!

Good food good service very busy nice staff. Pleasant experience. The pizza was good. The best part though, was the calamari and the arancini. The calamari was really fresh!

Ryan was amazing. The restaurant was packed and they managed to make room for the two of us. The service team (especially Ryan) was amazing! So warm and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for the wonderful evening. We had a great time.

What a wonderful family owned restaurant! We went to the one in Little Italy (they also have one in Laval opened a year ago!) and we loved the beautiful setting and quality meal and service! The decor is beautiful! Our waiter Ryan was impeccable, very kind and helpful and he also told us a little bit about the history of this restaurant which is fascinating!! The food was delicious and quite affordable for a nice fancy restaurant. Everyone loved it and we will be back!

We really enjoyed the quality of the food but the balance was a bit off. We ordered the polenta and the salmon linguine. Both dishes had too little of the secondary ingredients. The polenta could have had more mushrooms and a lot more spinach and sauce, the linguine could have used more of everything except noodles. That's not to say the portion sizes were too small, but rather that there was too much of the "carb" ingredient relative to the other ingredients. The ambiance of the place was pretty good, more modern chic than resolutely Italian in style. The service was also very good handling such a large group.

We had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Food arrived one hour after we sat down. My partner ordered bolognese pasta +meatball with the « gluten free option ». Turns out the gluten free option comes at a surcharge and NO meatball in the plate. Pay more to get less. No explanations were given. Expensive and average food. I hope you can improve on these points.

Corneli Montréal: The "Main Character" Bolognese and the Vanishing Waiter If Montreal suddenly turned into a ghost town and Corneli was the only place with the lights still on, I’d walk right in. It’s a solid 3/5 star experience that keeps you on your toes—mostly because you have to keep standing up to find your waiter. Here’s how the evening went down: The "Stealth" Meatballs We started with the homemade meatballs. Physically? Great quality. Emotionally? A bit distant. They were perfectly cooked but seemingly allergic to seasoning. It’s like they were designed for people who find black pepper a bit "too spicy." The Great Bread Heist This is where the night turned into an escape room. I asked our waiter for bread when the meatballs arrived. He nodded, looked me in the eye, and then apparently entered a witness protection program because I never saw him again. I had to recruit a second staff member for "Project Bread." When it finally arrived, it was that classic Italian-restaurant-staple: frozen bread that had been nuked into the fifth dimension. It was hot enough to power a small village, but hey, at least it was a warm welcome. The Redemption Arc: Spaghetti Bolognese Just when I thought I was in for a mediocre night, the Spaghetti Bolognese saved the day. I was bracing for a watery soup, but it was actually pretty great. The sauce was thick, clung to the pasta like a long-lost friend, and actually had a generous amount of meat. It was the MVP of the table, closely followed by my Bloody Caesar, which was spicy, reliable, and didn't require a search party to locate. The Verdict: Corneli is the ultimate "In Case of Emergency" restaurant. The service is a bit of a comedy of errors and the bread is aggressively microwaved, but that Bolognese is a genuine winner. I’d definitely go back—especially if the rest of the city is closed for the holidays (or the apocalypse).

Great Italian food! They have gluten free options. The tiramisu we had that day was about disappoting since it is too liquify and tastes like whipped cream in between. But the waitress waived the charge for this. I tried Rabit it is so tender and good! My friend has this mushroom and spinach plolanta, amazing good. Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous time here. Excellent food, large portions with a very friendly service. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas, with pleasant music. A mix of 60s, 70s, and more contemporary so everybody happy. Prices also very correct, considering all the food is freshly made, no microwaved shortcuts here. The parmigiana was my absolute favorite. I don't eat meat so can't say anything about the meat dishes but they looked yummy.
