Hadn't eaten there in a really long time and I went back lately. Still pretty good. It's still really surprisingly the same if you have a craving for some good old Chinese food in all the typical takeout or buffet food. Typical Chinese food that everyone's used to the egg rolls are awesome. Everything is good except maybe the chicken soup guy. Some of that great. It was a bit hard. We ordered it once. It was a great ordered it once. It was really terrible. Everything else was good. We had like a dinner with multiple items and we even added more and everything was good except for them. Like I said, chicken soup guy and I don't know the first time this chicken soupai was great. The second time the chicken soup guy was hard like rock and it was not edible. It's a little bit pricey but I mean when is Chinese food not expensive right? So I would say just order. It's been awhile. You've been there the craving Chinese food, the egg rolls, the chicken fried rice. Things like that are awesome. The egg rolls are really good. The chicken fried rice is really good. The pineapple chicken is really good. The chicken chow mein is very good and the garlic spare ribs are awesome but anyways I would say go try it get out of the house. It's been awhile since you've had it. Go try it. You have the craving for Chinese food. This will definitely get your craving to go away. Order some sauces. Don't forget the OD beef macaroni is very good too. And yeah everything is good except the chicken sugai so order call me. She's the owner there. She'll help you and write a review. It's indoor valve or Val circle. If you go to dorval circle, just take dorval avenue South and it's going to be on your left on the east side of the doraville avenue right across from the Maxi of the Walmart so you can't miss it. Go get it something there. It's worth it. Enjoy
What guests say about Restaurant Chows
Restaurant Chows has mixed reviews: several customers enjoy the classic Chinese takeout, with positive mentions of the egg rolls, fried chicken, and good value for money. However, others report a decline in quality, with dishes that are sometimes bland or too salty, and portions that disappoint. It's sad , excuse for COVID 19
Typical bad hygiene bad food spot
Food was good but the worst réception when called back to ask about our order (took over an hour to be delivered). The rudest and most insulting lady.....when our order came sauce was everywhere in the bag. Delivery man was super nice but the lady answering the phone needs to take a few lessons in customer service. Regardless of the food....customer service is the reason we will not order there again.
We live in Dorval for over 40 years and have visited Chows at the self-serve Restaurant and ordered take-out food for several times. Today I have to write this review to warn other possible customers of how this establishment's food quality has deteriorated over the past months! Maybe there's another or new cook in the kitchen, who has been instructed to save as much money on the various ingrediences of their menu offerings. They may pass in an old age home or a hospital setting, where food is free and nobody complains - but not on paying customers - who know the difference between good Chinese food and unappetizing left-overs! As a starter I have no complaints for the timely delivery after we ordered early in the afternoon for an evening delivery. But the food quality was much less than what we expected! Mushroom fried rice did hardly contain any mushroom at all! Then we tried the Hunan beef that was price at $17.75! There were some sliced beef strips with a huge amount of sliced onions on a brown sauce mix. Next was the Kung Poo shrimps. The 4-1/2" dia. x 3-1/2" high plastic container contained exactly 5 medium-sized shrimps and the rest was again all sliced onions and another thick brown and unappetizing sauce. I just bought an entire bag (400 grams) of larger shrimps from a delicatessen store for $12.00 that contained several times the quantity of 5-only shrimps!! And if you like onions - you can buy several bags from Maxi for less than Chows $17.25 offering. At the end a comment about the ordered egg rolls: I like them if they are crispy - but what we received was mushy and tasteless! The entire order w/ tax was close to $70.00 and went mostly to the garbage can! We called Chow's order desk - but they had nothing to offer in compensation or solution. They basically don't care! and in the process lost us as a customer!!!!
Great Food and Great Service - although the place looks shady - it’s a great value for a reasonable price
Amazing food!! My first stop after I fly to Montreal to visit friends and family!
A Chows customer since June of 1985. Tonight was the last meal I will ever order from this restaurant. Delivery took 70+ mins and I have never been served a more disgusting meal in my life. Everything was absolutely disgusting. - verge-of-rotten vegetables in the Kung Pow (gross) - pre mixed Hot and Sour soup with constancy of 2 day old gravy - cold / half cooked grocery store egg rolls $40 and 90% of it went directly into the garbage I've always enjoyed the food in the past, which is why this was such a letdown. Never ordering again, that is certain.
Great food and friendly
This place makes great food its at affordable price over great place ... I only wished they would re open thier dinning area .. i miss having thier buffet there is so few left .
We did take out tonight, was so looking forward to the meal. We were horribly disappointed, food was terrible. Egg rolls were super salty, chicken was so tough and all the rest of the meal was tasteless. Got to find another restaurant unfortunately.
