😍 For many, it's their first Scottish dining experience and it's a very good one! We had the crispiest fritters we ever had (well done!), haggis fans - this is your only place in town! Perfect seasoning and details, chic decor and above all, an amazing staff team ! Merci!

Meh. Decent food. Bad wine. No personality.
I noticed this restaurant had just opened nearby so i had it on my list of places to try out for a while as it’s rare to find a Scottish restaurant. I made a reservation to celebrate my brother’s birthday which gave me an excuse to try this place out. We ordered the mushrooms, battered blood sausage, and the sourdough to start. The mushroom dish was amazing and even better on top of the sourdough. I found the battered blood sausage to be too heavy and greasy and would have preferred something more than the citris jam (?) on top to to balance out the grease. Otherwise, i enjoyed the taste of the blood sausage itself! For our mains, we selected the lamb shank and haggis. The lamb shank was beautiful and very flavourful. It was our first time trying haggis and it blew our mind away. Incredibly deep flavours and very peppery. The gravy provided was also complimentary to the haggis. We had asked for additional gravy and they were happy to give us more. I do wish we had something fresh or textured as it was all soft textures across the dish (mashed potato, mashed sweet potato, haggis). Lastly, we ordered the cranachan (similar to a raspberry fool) and also the ginger cake (similar to a sticky toffee pudding). The ginger cake was incredible and moist. I have high standards for cakes like this with toffee because it’s one of my favourite desserts and it met my expectations and beyond. The cranachan was a simpler dessert in comparison. Overall, incredible service, surprising portion sizes (bigger than expected which is always good!), beautiful decor and ambience. Would love to be back when they update their seasonal menu.
Stunningly good food. Great ambiance. Recommended!
amazing
This might be my new favourite restaurant
Nice scotch list, and cozy spot. Food wa good not great. Overall expensive for what it was. Good to experience once if in the neighborhood.
What a lovely experience. We were served by JP and welcomed with open arms by Camille and Will. The vibe was very cozy and the food was incredible….the lamb shank and Sunday roast has unbelievable flavours. My mom and cousin were visiting and both have Scottish origins it was the perfect the spot. I will most definitely be back and have been telling everyone about it.
Wow I was blown away by this restaurant. What a refreshing menu. The leeks with kale pesto were so delicate, the mushrooms had a delicious sauce and the lamb shank felt like a cozy Christmas dish. The only thing that could be improved is the noise. Maybe the music could be a little lower so people didn’t have to talk so loud. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes!
The food and service was great. I had the pogo blood pudding and the cod "Cullen Skink", smoked haddock. It was really good but everything was too salty.
Such a great find! It was my first time at Bruce Taverne Écossaise and I genuinely loved the experience. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The service was amazing, very attentive without being too much, which makes a big difference. And the haggis (my first time trying it!) was honestly delicious, so rich and comforting. I’ll definitely be coming back 😊
This place is the real deal. Delicious food, interesting cocktails, perfect service. The kind of place you want to keep coming back to.
Went many times to eat and have a drink, a very lovely place. Every staff member was super nice and glad to answer any questions, the food is always excellent, i still crave their haggis.
Incredible food, cozy environment and very friendly and helpful staff. This will definitely become a regular spot for us in Montreal. 10/10
Great place to dine and a vast selection of Scotch. Friendly and intimate!
My first Scottish restaurant in Griffintown and a really awesome venue 😇😇 We loved the ambient atmosphere and the staff was super nice, kind, and helpful 🙏🙏 From the maître d’ to the server and the bartender it was fantastic service the entire time! We had the Chardonnay and then moved into the appetizers - sourdough, goat butter, and croquettes and it was beyond tasty ❤️❤️ For the main dish I had the lamb shank with risotto and my husband had the Fish of the Day and each bite was super delicious ❤️❤️ Our full compliments to the chefs for making such a gourmet’s delight made with so much attention and care 🙏🙏 Finally for dessert I had the chocolate mousse and my husband had the ginger loaf and it was heaven on earth ❤️❤️ Cannot wait to come back to this 11/10 Scottish restaurant and try other amazing items on its menu with the best staff and service 😇😇
I can’t believe this is a new restaurant, because it doesn’t feel like it in any way. It instantly feels cozy, rustic and timeless. You get the Scottish tavern feel with incredibly elevated dishes, full of flavour and heartiness. The charred oyster mushrooms are out of this world, the sourdough bread with goat butter is unreal. It’s comfort food that will satisfy even the most discerning foodies of Montreal. The service was incredible. The attention to detail, from cleaning up between every course, to refolding the napkin when you go to the bathroom, to taking your coats as soon as you enter and giving the right ones back without asking. Flawless. You can tell there’s serious high-end hospitality experience behind this place. It feels polished but never pretentious, refined yet full of soul. What a unique blend! I’ve never been to Scotland, although it’s on my list, but this place made me feel like I experienced a little piece of it right in the heart of Saint-Henri. It already feels like a neighbourhood staple, and it’s definitely going on my list of places I’ll bring friends visiting from out of town. Outstanding.
Came here with my Scottish husband and my Scottish in-laws to try something authentic and we were not disappointed! The food felt truly traditional and the atmosphere was amazing. It really felt like a little piece of Scotland. Would definitely recommend!
Such a great place!! Can’t beat the service. A place where the staff really wants to be there.
Had a wonderful Burns night supper here with a party of 6. Staff were friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was very cozy and home-like. The haggis was excellent, as was the rest of it. The band (and poetry recital!) just added to an already brilliant dining experience. Thank you.
Incredible Sunday roast. Best in the city.
We had an amazing experience at Restaurant Bruce. The staff were warm and welcoming. The food was flavourful, warm and delicious. The quaint and cozy ambiance made for wonderful night out on a cold night. Highly recommend!🏴
Already been here 3 times! Great food and a very cool representation of modern Scottish concepts and ingredients. Staff is welcoming and friendly too!
The blood pudding and haggis—dishes that can traditionally be intimidating—were done to perfection and proved approachable for anyone.
Everything was really good! Cute addition to Griffintown. Keep up it up Bruce Team!
