The food I got was bland and boring. A build-your-own concept can only work if any combination is worth eating. With their healthy bowl starting at 25$, I just stuck with the default, which was nothing more than a warmish serving of meat, potato, barley and slaw, piled up in a paper bowl and served with dry pita bread. The dining area was so cold we kept our winter jackets on while we ate. This was a significant let down from my first experiences at a Boustan (the one on Crescent) a few years back, where the food was always gratifyingly tasty no matter what you picked.

Got a chicken plate at lunch and got food poisoning. Not good. I even tried the location downtown on crescent a month ago and the shish taouk sandwich had no flavor! I remember Boustan being good back in the day… what happened!
