A hidden gem and a truly unique spot—this is the only Czech restaurant still standing in Quebec, and you can feel how special it is the moment you walk in. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. We started with the soup of the day (a vegetable soup) and the soupe aux tripes, which was richer and creamier—both were excellent. For mains, we had the poulet braisé au cari and the goulache au bœuf, and they were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We also tried the saucisse choucroute served with mustard—simple, hearty, and really satisfying. I had a Czech beer, which paired perfectly with the meal. For dessert, we shared a raspberry cake—it looked like a tart but was lighter, and honestly so good. What really makes this place stand out is the people. The restaurant is family-run, and we had the chance to meet the owners. They were incredibly kind and welcoming—it was actually really nice to see the husband cooking in the kitchen. You can tell these are recipes passed down with care. The vibe is cozy and warm, with classical music playing in the background. The space is decorated with family photos and traditional Czech elements, which makes it feel personal and authentic. If you’re looking for a local, low-key restaurant that’s not all over social media—where a family cooks traditional recipes—this is the place. I’d definitely go back. They also offer a great table d’hôte menu for $28 (soup, main, dessert, and coffee or tea), and there’s free parking available.

I admit not being familiar with Central/Eastern European cuisine, even less so Czech specific. However, I know good food and this was tasty! I also enjoyed the vibe, felt like dining at a grandmother's living room where she was serving her traditional best dishes. My favorite item turned out to be a tripe soup. Hard to describe, but it was just warm and hearty and tasty. Try it even if you may not like tripe. The lamb was also the best of the different proteins sampled. Located on a small residential street, there is a reason it has been successful for many decades.

It's not much of a secret anymore. This place is the best in Brossard.
