We celebrated a birthday at this wonderful restaurant and everything was really nice. The filet mignon with mushrooms and mushroom sauce was really good — the meat was perfectly cooked and the sauce was absolutely delicious (easily the best part!). The atmosphere is classy and elegant without being stuffy, making it perfect for a special occasion. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the evening. I recommend for a good meal and classy atmosphere.

Great place, good and timely service and nice atmosphere in the restaurant.
Food was good, but the service was immaculate!!!
Service was fantastic, the lady who saw us in and the waitress. Friendly smiling and accommodating. Food was excellent I had the wagyu burger and the scallops. Burger was deadly, but the scallop dish was amazing.
We came here for a birthday as a group and for an upscale restaurant we were a little dissapointed with the service. Lots of errors were made throughout the night like dropping an entire plate of drinks on us accidentally (which stained my satin shirt), bringing us someone's elses cake by accident before we had even received our appetizers, giving us meat bouchées when we told our waitress that 2 of us were pescetarian (including the birthday girl but thankfully we had the intelligence to ask before eating), bringing out the entire cake lit up that we brought without even asking us if the timing was good or warning us so we didn't even have our cameras ready and missed a part of the filming etc. They didn't even present our plates when they brought us our food (which normally I wouldn't care so much, but we are in an upscale restaurant it is part of the upscale service normally). The drinks that were dropped were not charged thankfully, but they charged us 7$ a head for cutting our cake (so for the table 42$ when the cake already cost 100$ to make) which wasn't even mentionned when we reserved the restaurant and brought the cake. Honestly at that point, cutting the cake should have been free, but 7$ a head is ridiculous and overpriced. Let's just say I wasn't shy to ask the manager to give us at least some free shots for the evening we just had, which they did without fault. What saved our experience is that honestly the food was incredible everything we ordered was delicious. Also the music for a saturday evening was really a vibe killer, at 10pm the restaurant was already pretty dead. They should play some better lounge music because it is a restaurant that has alot of potential to be before going out in Montréal.
Only place in montreal with actual truffles in their truffle pasta + the oignon soup was so good!! I recommend this place!
It was Easter. I was walking with my family mear Peel and we found this restaurant... As we didn't reserve in advance, we went inside and the hostess was able to find us a table. The waitress was very kind too. We tried "Benjamin Wagyu Burger" (8/10), the "Croque de Pâques" (6/10), "Omelette fromage et champignons" (7/10). They have a large variety of good wine.
Great steak! Will definitely come back. Thank you.
Very average. Nothing to write home about. Not likely to return.
The food was okay, the portion was quite small and not as presentable as I had anticipated. The service on the other hand was slow. Everyone was nice but it took quite some time to receive our food or anything. Raphael was our server and he was very friendly and attentive, but after his shift ended we had a different server that didn’t come to see us once. We had brought a birthday cake as well that they didn’t inform us of a service charge of $7 per person to cut the cake, which we didn’t mind but at least inform us in advance, well the hostess when we had given her the cake.
Beautiful place, delicious cocktails , great service… but stop there. Calling yourself a steakhouse is an insult to actual steakhouses. We ordered a cut off the menu « cote de bœuf » 45oz split by 3 people. Asked for medium rare and got medium. Barely a sear on it. Got 2 sides and 2 sauces , mashed potatoes and fries which were laughable in terms of portions, barely enough for 1 person. Just that dish was 310$ before tax. My wife had the ravioli dish which was 6 small ravioli with a huge sauce in the middle. Was it good? Yes… but again, the portion is ridiculous and is more of an entree then a main for 38$. Look at other people’s pictures of the dish . Do yourself a favor and go to maison boulud for one of the best cote de bœuf in the city and substantially cheaper. Will not being going back.
Exceptional service from start to finish. Huge thanks to David P his recommendations were spot on, and he really knows his wine. This steakhouse is clearly on its way to becoming a must-visit, thanks to both the outstanding quality and the attention to detail from the staff. The atmosphere feels like a Parisian bistro, and you get that impression right as you walk in, with a beautiful display showcasing their premium cuts. They also have an impressive wine cellar with a great selection. Special mention to the meat quality especially the wagyu carpaccio, which was absolutely incredible.
Ordered the dry-aged strip loin and it was delicious! Well cooked and it cut perfectly. Love the ambience of the restaurant as well. Will definitely come back.
The service was truly exceptional, very caring and professional staff, after a long time I felt this type of good service. Food is great some things better than others. One thing that I did not appreciate: when you go to pay, the tips included are not before tax, with the new law tips must be applied before tax so just be aware.
My fiancé and I planned a date night dinner here. The atmosphere is very nice romantic, classy. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food quality is OK however a bit on the pricey side for what you get. My lobster dish could’ve come with two tails for the price and the risotto was a bit on the heavy side. I would also recommend perhaps getting a bottle of wine versus by the glass. Depending on the wine, a glass can be $45. Overall we enjoyed our time there. I’ll be sure to order the crabcake again it was delicious and well priced.
Fantastic new steakhouse! While staying at the St Martin hotel, I decided to try this new restaurant. It was a good decision. Great food, great service, and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Menu states dry aged 10 oz steak. Ordered rare. It was rare, and very tough. It was also much smaller than any 10oz ive ever had. For 68 dollars, it really felt like a scam. The sauce was supposed to be perigourdine for an extra price, but it ́only tasted burned bovril. My partner's filet mignon cooked medium well had blood on the plate, which implies steak never rested before serving. For a restaurant that bills itself as premium steak house, it was worse than the keg. Had boudin, deviled eggs, bone marrow, and confi leeks for app. The boudin was hard fried. The confi leeks were served cold. The bone marrow was minimal despite being in a massive bone. The deviled eggs were runny. It felt like room service food at a moderately expensive hotel. The drinks were great. They just made them in batches then would hand them out to everyone in batches which meant waiting. Lots of waiting. They even asked me to wait for the manager before giving me my bill. 30 min later I asked if I could pay so I could leave. Never saw the manager. Bill was 300 +tip for 4 apps two mains 1 8oz glass if wine, 1 mixed drink, 1 glass prosecco.
Went to benjamins and had the best time. Thank to our waitress Joelle she was the best and went above and beyond 🙏🏾
I've been here twice, first time for lunch service which they had an amazing deal where the main course came with a complimentary appetizer. The second time where I was hosted by a great dude named Niko. He prob made me the best cocktail I had in a while called the Cendres D'armbre. This place seriously made me love eating steak and the staff has an amazing sense of charisma and charm.
Very good food and service.
Nice Buzz, Nice setting. Friendly & Efficient Staff. In general food was good, wine great, but, Lobster Thermidor, not so…5 out of 10, so-so lobster tail not great recipe, I make much better at home. Would be much better if Half fresh lobster instead of frozen lobster tail, Owners could still reach decent price point…Risotto was great. deserts really good. Overall, nice evening.
Excellent experience during a business dinner. Staff was very friendly. The onion soup and flank steak were excellent. Definitely going back.
great food and service. we ordered a bennedict, classic egg and a french onion soup. I said the soup flavor was too strong for me and they gave me a refund at the end. It was surprising. def recommended!
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and top tier service. Prices are very reasonable for the level of quality.
We, as some of the other reviews, were very much let down by Benjamin’s Valentine’s Day menu. I would essentially second another reviewer’s opinion: “The biggest letdown was the food. The evening was a fixed menu, so there wasn’t much choice, and unfortunately the portions across the menu felt forced and not filling. The steaks arrived cooked two completely different temperatures within the same order ( medium rare). The portion size was honestly the worst part. The main dish consisted of two very small pieces of steak, and I left the restaurant still hungry. That should never happen after an expensive Valentine’s dinner.” For our part, the service and the atmosphere was fine, on par with other high end restaurants, but the food was just not there, especially for the price ($340 for two people). Most of the stuff had clearly been on a plate warmer for quite a while (film on sauce, dry texture) which is frankly ridiculous for a place that expensive. The whole menu just felt as if it was trying too hard to be “fancy” though with very little substance. Left hungry and a little frustrated. Would not recommend.
