We arrived early and were graciously accommodated. Their wine selection was lovely and we selected an excellent Spanish wine from the Roija region. A young staff member was attentive and kind. He made sure our water was filled and later alerted staff to other issues. The smoked salmon starter was excellent. The fresh bread was first rate. When the steaks arrived, my steak frites was cooked to order and very tasty! My partner's Chicago AAA cut was ordered medium rare and came grey/overdone. We never send food back... today we did. The manager tried to explain that the lighting made the meat look over done. My partner does private catering.... he knows when his steak is overdone. We did not appreciate the patronizing explanation. Eating alone ruined the dining experience; it took 20 min for a new steak to arrive. (It was good.) Dessert cheesecake was good. The chocolate chips are an interesting choice. Melted would be amazing. Mixed feelings on a visit that was to be a special evening. No restaurant should make a customer feel like they are wrong for food that is not cooked to order. Not making the refire of a new steak a priority is a serious faux pas; a party should not eat their meals at different times. This shluld have been a 5 star review.....
