The food, atmosphere, and staff are AMAZING. Most importantly, Camillo makes the best cup of coffee ever!

Had an amazing experience dining at Beba
I’ve lived in Montreal for five years and have explored much of the city's fine dining scene, but my experience at Beba last night was truly in a league of its own. The food was clean, sharp, and exceptionally well-balanced. You can tell that every single dish is thoughtfully constructed and organized with precision. The layers of flavor were sophisticated and sharp, and the chef’s intentions were clearly communicated in every bite. Having visited countless restaurants over the years, it is rare to find a place that offers such a seamless experience from start to finish. From the genuine guidance during the menu selection to the moment we left, everything was handled with perfect care. It has been a long time since I've experienced such a flawless, cohesive evening, and for me, that is the highest compliment I can give.
1000/10
Beba was a good time. Good food, friendly service, good music. Mind you, a little noisy for a Wednesday evening, but one can't really blame the restaurant for that. We would definitely return.
Very impressed with everything from the quality of the ingredients to the execution of the dishes and an amazing service. Highly recommend asking for the tasting menu if you are a first time visitor.
Quite easily the best meal I had during my stay in Montreal! Restaurant Beba was ranked the 7th best restaurant in Canada and the 50th best in North America in 2025 and for good reason. The service throughout the entire night was phenomenal—every worker was so friendly and knowledgeable about each dish. In a way, dining at Beba felt like eating in someone’s home with the way we were treated so kindly and enthusiastically. Definitely make a reservation as the interior is very small; we had a lovely time at the bar. Their menu is incredibly inventive, mainly taking inspiration from the Italian and Spanish culinary traditions established in Argentina. Most of their dishes rotate depending on seasonal ingredients, but they always have their signature starters. They recommended trying four to five dishes for two, which was the perfect amount of food. We started with a duck special for an appetizer. The slices of meat were insanely tender and went so well over the fresh cabbage and dressing. Next, we had the beef tongue, which they were able to slightly alter to accommodate for my tree nut allergy. Once again, the meat was so juicy and flavorful. We really enjoyed the blood sausage and rapini it came with as well. The brown butter sauce reminded us of movie theater popcorn in the best possible way. Our third dish was the pappardelle. It was cooked al dente with just the right amount of firmness and bite and tossed in the creamiest cheese sauce with duck ragu. The overall dish was meaty and hearty while not feeling too heavy or greasy. For the largest shared plate, we opted for the Guinea fowl. The skin was wonderfully crispy while the meat remained juicy and savory. The oyster mushrooms and sunchokes were great complements that cut through the meatiness, and every ingredient tasted magnificent when slathered in the herbaceous salsa verde. We finished our meal with the flan—one of the best I have ever had without a doubt. The custard base was so bouncy, rich, and creamy. It was topped with the most delicate whipped cream that wasn’t overly sweet and the best dulce de leche I have tasted in my life. The thick caramel’s nuttiness and richness made me speechless. I could eat hundreds of these flans without ever getting tired of the dessert. Restaurant Beba delivered us a perfect experience. Each dish was brought to us at a good pace, allowing us to enjoy every bite with no rush. The amazing service, atmosphere, and, of course, food has guaranteed that I will return the next time I’m visiting Montreal. If you want a meal you will never forget, Beba is the place to go!
Terribly overrated food-wise. It really makes me wonder how they got themselves listed on Michelin and in several MTL listings. Not a hint of South American flavour. It's more east European than anything. Food was fresh, but very bland, rather salty and portion sizes are tiny. The service was good. It's also fairly loud, so not great for conversation.
Excellent food and service. Nizar was an excellent host. Thank you!
The food was amazing!
I'd place this among my top ten dining experiences in Canada — high praise given how much I've explored.
Very overrated.
Every thing we had was absolutely delicious and the staff was so kind! Even gave us some other local places to stop at while we were in town for vacation. Would recommend go back again just for the dates alone
Simply Awesome
Best place to eat in Montréal, hands down.
Beba is what happens when Argentina, Spain, and Italy have a dinner party in Verdun and nobody goes home. Named after a grandmother — the highest possible endorsement a restaurant can receive — this intimate little room on Rue Éthel operates like a love letter written in foie gras-stuffed dates and finished with a dulce de leche flan. You don’t just eat here. You correspond with someone’s abuela. The menu changes weekly, which sounds like a commitment issue but is actually the most romantic thing a restaurant can do. It means they care more about what’s good right now than what looks safe on a laminated card. The wine list alone could put a sommelier into a beautiful, dissociative spiral — natural, obscure, brilliant, and somehow reasonably priced for the sheer audacity of the selection. The service is warm without being theatrical, the music is perfect without being loud, and the whole experience has the rare quality of feeling both effortless and deeply considered. Beba is not a restaurant you stumble into. It’s one you tell people about in a hushed, slightly possessive voice, like a very good secret you’re only sharing because you trust them.
This is a highly-rated restaurant in Verdun, Montreal; I don't think it quite lived up to the hype. Service was efficient, but we found our server to be a little dismissive and she encouraged us to over-order. Food quality was variable. The fish was excellent, as others have noted, but the pasta was uninspiring. The salad was fine and well-presented, but the dressing was similar to a Caesar dressing I make myself. The stuffed dates were delicious, if drenched in a bit too much olive oil. The wine list was extensive, but sold at a high price point. Overall, an interesting establishment, but expensive and our party of four did not feel this to be a Michelin-rated experience.
Everything was 10/10, and Nizar took incredible care of us. Look forward to going back
The most incredible experience, every single time. Nothing like a meal that brings you to tears. Thank you!
It was our fourth visit to Beba and as always was an excellent experience. The food and service are top notch, thank you to all the staff!
Truly a food lovers restaurant that is cosy and atmospheric. Service was educational and I mean that in the best possible way. The team have obviously worked hard to get it right. A must go place.
The service and meal were amazing!!
I had a wonderful dinner at Beba to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and it was truly a memorable experience. Every dish was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. The open kitchen added an engaging element to the dining experience and made the evening even more enjoyable. With its excellent food and warm, welcoming service, Beba made our evening feel truly special!
Fantastic! Service was phenomenal - this team is so hospitable. You must get the knish with caviar and the mackerel.
Always a wonderful night at Beba. The staff are kind and friendly and the food is always superb. A real gem in the Montreal food scene!
