Well, we had pretty high expectations since this place was recognized as 6th best restaurant in Canada. Even though we had amazing time here, I feel it is a bit overrated. Can’t complain about the service - 10/10. The food itself was great, but I feel it lacks of creativity. I believe that high quality and amazing taste is not enough for one of the best restaurant in Canada. Lastly, what really disappointed us - the atmosphere. The place itself is tiny and feels overcrowded, in addition to that the music was too loud that made having a good conversation more difficult. Overall it was an amazing experience, but we should have had a lower expectations.

I enjoy a food adventure and that’s why I like to try different restos. Unfortunately this didn’t make it for me. We started with the Knish with caviar . A knish is a mashed potatoes and onions wrapped in pastry. It was one very small bite and it was topped with a very bland caviar…not the good stuff…very overrated and overpriced…$39. Next we ordered the mackerel. It was 2 small slices on a very little sesame bread with fresh horseradish and a big blob of butter. Way too much butter. Then we had the Rabbit, which was very tender, and mildly flavoured. We didn’t really care for the cocktails or the wine so this place didn’t hit its marks for us.
Food, ambiance and service is just one point. I really recommend to any food lover.
At times service was great and others was choppy (long time for bread, return of server, coats). The food was good (especially the tagliatelle pasta which was incredible) but not spectacular as other places in montreal-very inventive but at times stretched too hard. The octopus was a little tough, and frankly the by the glass wine menu was tiny relative to the immense bottle menu.
Beba was our favorite dining experience when visiting Montreal last weekend! These people are passionate about cooking delicious food! Awesome music playlist, great staff and ambience and the food is the star of the show. Don’t skip the salad. It’s perfect! Also shout out to the bartender who makes the most delicious canned NA celery soda mocktail. Thanks for a great meal!
The food was good but a bit too spicy 🥵 for my taste and they unfortunately don't mention it. For the first time in my life I was shocked how spicy 🔥 two different pasta 🍝 dishes can be. Besides that the food was actually very good. I would of really appreciated a warning ⚠️ in the menu or from the staff about the heat level. Otherwise the service was great and the over all vibe was ok.
We had a fabulous experience at Beba, the food and staff were exceptional. The fresh ingredients were served in unique and creative ways. The wine list was excellent. The staff truly made us feel appreciated and welcomed. We loved every minute!!
In this category of elevated comfort food, Beba is the place of excellence to visit. Phenomenal dishes, impeccable service. I went 2 nights in a row. The 3rd visit a few months later didn’t disappoint. So did the 4th, the 5th visits. Each and every time, I tried new dishes with unique flavours that just hit right.
I liked that the staff were welcoming and I could try various dishes without having to pay for the full size by getting smaller portions. The foods were prepared and served to bring the most out of each ingredient’s characteristics and flavors. I liked the cozy neighborhood-spot vibe but it could be bad for a big group. Will visit again.
Every single dish I tried was delicious. I really appreciate that they offer portion options for solo diners and it made it so much easier for me to be able to try a wider variety of dishes. One thing that truly surprised me was the appetizer with dates and foie gras. I’m usually not a fan of foie gras, but since it was so highly recommended, I decided to give it a try—and it’s definitely the one that suits my taste the most. The steak and the clam and beans dish i had that day were also excellent. I’d love to come back and try their new menu!
The good was delicious. Staff were so nice and professional. The service in between each course was a bit slow but overall I very much enjoyed and would definitely come back.
The food, atmosphere, and staff are AMAZING. Most importantly, Camillo makes the best cup of coffee ever!
Had an amazing experience dining at Beba
I’ve lived in Montreal for five years and have explored much of the city's fine dining scene, but my experience at Beba last night was truly in a league of its own. The food was clean, sharp, and exceptionally well-balanced. You can tell that every single dish is thoughtfully constructed and organized with precision. The layers of flavor were sophisticated and sharp, and the chef’s intentions were clearly communicated in every bite. Having visited countless restaurants over the years, it is rare to find a place that offers such a seamless experience from start to finish. From the genuine guidance during the menu selection to the moment we left, everything was handled with perfect care. It has been a long time since I've experienced such a flawless, cohesive evening, and for me, that is the highest compliment I can give.
1000/10
Beba was a good time. Good food, friendly service, good music. Mind you, a little noisy for a Wednesday evening, but one can't really blame the restaurant for that. We would definitely return.
Very impressed with everything from the quality of the ingredients to the execution of the dishes and an amazing service. Highly recommend asking for the tasting menu if you are a first time visitor.
Quite easily the best meal I had during my stay in Montreal! Restaurant Beba was ranked the 7th best restaurant in Canada and the 50th best in North America in 2025 and for good reason. The service throughout the entire night was phenomenal—every worker was so friendly and knowledgeable about each dish. In a way, dining at Beba felt like eating in someone’s home with the way we were treated so kindly and enthusiastically. Definitely make a reservation as the interior is very small; we had a lovely time at the bar. Their menu is incredibly inventive, mainly taking inspiration from the Italian and Spanish culinary traditions established in Argentina. Most of their dishes rotate depending on seasonal ingredients, but they always have their signature starters. They recommended trying four to five dishes for two, which was the perfect amount of food. We started with a duck special for an appetizer. The slices of meat were insanely tender and went so well over the fresh cabbage and dressing. Next, we had the beef tongue, which they were able to slightly alter to accommodate for my tree nut allergy. Once again, the meat was so juicy and flavorful. We really enjoyed the blood sausage and rapini it came with as well. The brown butter sauce reminded us of movie theater popcorn in the best possible way. Our third dish was the pappardelle. It was cooked al dente with just the right amount of firmness and bite and tossed in the creamiest cheese sauce with duck ragu. The overall dish was meaty and hearty while not feeling too heavy or greasy. For the largest shared plate, we opted for the Guinea fowl. The skin was wonderfully crispy while the meat remained juicy and savory. The oyster mushrooms and sunchokes were great complements that cut through the meatiness, and every ingredient tasted magnificent when slathered in the herbaceous salsa verde. We finished our meal with the flan—one of the best I have ever had without a doubt. The custard base was so bouncy, rich, and creamy. It was topped with the most delicate whipped cream that wasn’t overly sweet and the best dulce de leche I have tasted in my life. The thick caramel’s nuttiness and richness made me speechless. I could eat hundreds of these flans without ever getting tired of the dessert. Restaurant Beba delivered us a perfect experience. Each dish was brought to us at a good pace, allowing us to enjoy every bite with no rush. The amazing service, atmosphere, and, of course, food has guaranteed that I will return the next time I’m visiting Montreal. If you want a meal you will never forget, Beba is the place to go!
Terribly overrated food-wise. It really makes me wonder how they got themselves listed on Michelin and in several MTL listings. Not a hint of South American flavour. It's more east European than anything. Food was fresh, but very bland, rather salty and portion sizes are tiny. The service was good. It's also fairly loud, so not great for conversation.
Excellent food and service. Nizar was an excellent host. Thank you!
The food was amazing!
I'd place this among my top ten dining experiences in Canada — high praise given how much I've explored.
Very overrated.
Every thing we had was absolutely delicious and the staff was so kind! Even gave us some other local places to stop at while we were in town for vacation. Would recommend go back again just for the dates alone
Simply Awesome
