This Basha location on Sources has been a recent fav - mainly from a couple of experiences having my favourite dish, the Shish Taouk - full of juicy chicken cut from their skewer fresh every time. Last night I was tired and hungry when meeting a friend who's never been there before. My pleasure to make the introduction, as I'm rarely in the area now, I always enjoy sharing a good experience - and... ...it was about 45 mins before closing time - when I arrived the food still looked fresh - which it was - except the chicken - but - that's on me.... Why? ...well - I was so tired, so hungry, once I started I didn't mention the fairly dry chicken to anyone, except my friend, and ate a good portion - again - that's on me... yes - on me I did bring it up to the attention of the good young man who served me - while leaving. He rightly stated, first, it was the end of the evening - true - second, had I said anything he would have changed the meat...I believe him - my tired butt left with the remaining food in a container I asked for - as it's always a go to to gobble up during the following days - so - I'm also a goof on two fronts. Why? ...well, because, even tho I crashed pretty much after I got home - this morning I just finished the remaining portions - the meat softened up overnight in the fridge - yup. This was breakfast - never did that before except with pizza - and this was tastier and healthier - so - I'm sharing. THIS is a shout-out to the kind young man who was patient and willing to serve me with all my fussiness - at the end of their day - ...lesson learnt - being kind is lovely - being grateful is lovely - being willing to admit when you didn't behave well towards others - can be lovely too :) Life's lessons never stop - until we're no longer here to learn - and this one has been a good.
