I don’t know why this place doesn’t have a better rating. We didn’t wait at all, and the guy at the counter does most of the work—he was extremely nice and very helpful. We really loved both the service and the food. The only small downsides are that the place looks just a bit outdated, and some food options didn’t have labels. Other than that, we’ll definitely be coming back!

Qingshu used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. I genuinely loved their soup, and I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve probably been there over 30 times. It was my go-to malatang spot. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same anymore. I found a hair in my soup. Not once, but twice. The two photos I attached were taken on different dates (November 15, 2025 and January 11, 2026). The first time, I let the staff know right away. The second time, which was today, I didn’t say anything. I was honestly just too emotionally exhausted to bring it up again. After experiencing this twice, I felt extremely disgusted and disappointed. What makes it even worse is that I’m genuinely sad to lose a place I once loved so much. I really wish this hadn’t happened, but cleanliness is something I just can’t overlook.
