First and foremost, the food is delicious, and I have absolutely no complaints about the quality. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since 2023, and it remains one of my favourite places for Indian thali. I’ve also recommended it to many friends and others because of how much I enjoy the food. Thankfully, the food quality has continued to live up to my expectations. However, I have a serious concern about the service at the cash counter. On my first visit, I was charged almost $5 more than the menu price. I didn’t notice it at the time and only realized it after getting home. The second time, the same thing happened to my wife, and today, it happened to us again. The problem is that having to confront the cashier and recalculate the bill every time is uncomfortable and embarrassing. Today, the young cashier told me that they charge an extra dollar when customers pay in cash. This has never been the case during all the years I’ve been eating here. When I pointed out the difference and calculated the correct bill, he responded, “Okay, for today, I’ll keep this bill.” What exactly does that mean? Are we being given a special favour for paying the correct amount? I personally find his attitude quite rude and the repeated overcharging very concerning. The gentleman who used to handle the cash counter was always wonderful, and I never had these kinds of issues with him. It’s genuinely disappointing because I love the food and have supported this restaurant for years. But good food alone isn’t enough when customers feel uncomfortable at the counter or cannot trust that they are being charged the correct price. Unfortunately, after these repeated experiences, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. I hope the management looks into this issue, because a restaurant that has earned customers’ trust through its food should also maintain that trust through honest and respectful service.
