This was a lovely pub. The food was fantastic. They specialize in pot pies and I tried the braised beef pie. The flavors were amazing and the beef was perfectly cooked. Would return for sure.

First and last time coming here sadly. The drinks and food were great very cosy atmosphere but you just never forget how a person makes you feel. The waitress we had, 40-something woman with pigtails– had such a negative energy I felt it in her tone of voice the from the moment I asked her what the specials were. She was clearly irritated by my question, responding to me so condescendingly, I was a bit stunned so I just stared at her for a second… super uncomfortable. Later during our drinks, she handed my friend her glass of wine and hastened her to take it from the waitresses hand. Isn’t it normal for the drink to be placed on the table? We were there a max of 45 minutes. Some people just leave you feeling gross inside and it’s so, so unnecessary. People have to act better.
Five star experience with exceptional service and delicious food. We had the Pork Chops, absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Also, the fall-off-the-bone tasty honey and garlic ribs with the homemade kimchi chee. And the impressive maple salad, (it was a small portion) a scrumptious marriage of sucrine lettuce, endive, marinated beets, pears, raisins, and seasoned ricotta topped with a maple dressing. I happily stole the ribs and salad idea from the lovely woman sitting to me at the bar — Lucy who turned out to be the general manager,. How lucky is that? It’s the that details that made our meal so memorable. Holly, the warm and amiable bartender, Vincent, the personable service assistant, and Lucy, the down to earth manager — each made us feel like long-time regulars and friends. Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable.
In here right now, the place is buzzing. My omlette was superb, the cider too......wish we were in town longer to revisit.
Went here all the time for several years but then noticed its marketing team started pretending it was located in the Old Port even though it’s in Old Montreal. A bartender explained that they say Old Port because it has a better reputation than Old Montreal, which has become increasingly dirty and sketchy. True, but still kind of insulting to residents. So, they’ve lost two longtime customers.
Amazing. Best properly cooked 🍔 I think I've had in Canada. Didn't even have to ask to have it medium rare. Just 👌 👍
We went in for drinks after eating in our hotel restaurant and the staff were friendly and gave us some great advice about what to see/do in Montreal. Gets really busy on weekends
This place is sick!!!!! I got the salmon thing. Very well cooked. And that bordelaise sauce was to die for
You’ll want a reservation (walking in is almost impossible) but it’s for good reason! We ordered the chicken pot pie (to die for), the Shepard’s pie (pretty good), and one of the pasta dishes (phenomenal). The drinks were great and the service excellent. We celebrated a birthday here and the staff helped make the night special.
Excellent pub: the food was wonderful and the cocktail I had was well crafted. The service was attentive too, which added to the atmosphere.
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere was perfect — lively but still intimate. Such a great spot for a night out. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite spots in old Montreal. The food is absolutely excellent. And the summer patio is magic on summer nights.
The food was amazing. The beef stroganoff pot pie was incredible. It tasted more like a beef bourgonon and was one of the tastiest dishes I have ever had.
We were looking for a place to eat and came across this place! We are so happy we decided to try it. Husband has house beer and i had the apple cider spritz. As the main meal, my husband had the burger and I had the salmon with garlic risotto cauliflower. It was a good sized portion and delicious. I absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was great, they were playing 80s music which i loved! Decor was really nice too.
Great food and the best pint of Guinness in town!
I came with a fairly large group on a busy night and they quickly found a place for us to stand inside while we waited for the rest of our group to get there. We had to wait for a bit for a table to free up, but that's just how things go sometimes and they still served us while we were waiting for a table. Friendly, attentive service and a great atmosphere. The only thing I can't remark on is the food, since we only had drinks.
I come here more often than I care to admit and I feel compelled to leave a review because every single person here deserves it. From ownership to server, every single staff member is wonderful, and appears to enjoy their workplace; which is so important to the restaurant experience. This Old Port gem has great food, a great atmosphere, and wonderful people. You can’t go wrong!
Almost immediately after this place opened, we became regulars. The servers were fantastic, the food was really good and we loved the courtyard terrace. Over the years we brought lots of friends and family to Wolf & Workman, and I always recommended it to people. So, why only 2 stars? We stopped going when we noticed it was claiming to be in the Old Port. When we asked our server once, she said: “Yeah, we know it’s not but it’s for tourists, I guess.” As longtime Old Montreal residents who supported Wolf & Workman (including in the slower winter months), we were ticked off. If they’re lying to attract tourists, then maybe they don’t care about residents. A neighbour who used to be a regular said he stopped going, too, because “if they’re lying about being in the Old Port, what else are they lying about?” It’s a shame that Wolf & Workman have decided to alienate Old Montreal residents. If you choose to go (and you should) you will likely get seated easily because there are a few less regulars using up tables.
I had a fantastic experience at Pub Wolf & Workman in Montreal. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly tender, flavorful, and exactly how I ordered it. The General Tao ribs were outstanding such a great balance of sweet and savory with just the right amount of kick. Everything about the meal hit the mark. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Montreal!
I was here the other day and had a terrible experience. The staff were obviously drunk and not just one person, but it seemed like everyone was intoxicated which felt super unprofessional. We waited on our drinks while they did shots together and ignored us. Not to mention we overheard the staff (including who I assume is the manager) openly talking badly about other clients. Overall unprofessional and not worth the money they charge for simple items like a normal burger with fries. I’ve never gone out of my way to leave a bad review before but it was THAT bad.
Excellent place. Great bartenders and a very friendly clientele.
Wonderful place to stop by for a pint or some bites while your out walking around this neighborhood, of Montréal amazing staff and great food finds 😀
Had a wonderful dinner here. Nice and cozy and the pot pie was killer! Great on a cold winter’s day.
Stopped in at Wolf & Workman for lunch between two client meetings and honestly… this place understood the assignment. I walked in and immediately got that warm, chill, cozy feeling. Perfect indie rock at the right volume vibes. The kind of music that says “stay a while, but don’t panic if you have emails.” The manager was at the bar doing some work, bartender greeted me right away, and when I asked for a quiet spot with a plug to get some laptop work done, they both made sure I was set up properly. Small detail, big win. My waitress had a serious, slightly cold demeanor but in a good way. April Ludgate energy, minus the chaos. Dry. Professional. Zero nonsense. I loved it. I ordered an Old Fashioned. She made sure to confirm it was their version (slightly different than the traditional one). I said yes. Excellent decision. It was fantastic genuinely one of the best Old Fashioneds I’ve had in a while, and this is my go-to drink. Then came the W-W burger (burger of the day). Caramelized onions, jam, cheese the works. Quality ingredients, cooked right. The brioche bun initially felt firm, but it turns out it was just preparing me. That crunch ended up being exactly what the burger needed. The patty was perfectly rosé… but let me be clear: This burger was actively trying to escape. Like a raccoon realizing the trash lid is loose, the patty kept making break attempts from the bun. This is not a burger you casually pick up, put down, and reflect on life choices. No. Once you lift it, you commit. Setting it back down becomes a high-risk maneuver. I foolishly attempted to pause mid-burger. Bad idea. Quick reassessment. Napkin deployed on lap for safety. Second pickup. Final pickup. No turning back. Despite several escape attempts, I managed to keep it together and enjoyed every bite. The waitress noticed my struggle and, without breaking character, quietly brought extra napkins for the aftermath. Respect. Am I mad about the inconvenience? Not at all. It’s a burger. Deal with it. And more importantly ... it was phenomenal. Cozy, classy, busy but still quiet. A little expensive, but expensive in the right way. I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m nearby.
Wood & Workman is an incredibly beautiful pub with a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly and quick to serve us when we first arrived. The mushroom soup was hands down the best we’ve ever had, and the hummus was delicious — though we wished there was more naan to go with it. Unfortunately, getting additional drinks later on took an extremely long time — it felt like we were waiting for the moon landing. Overall, it’s a stunning spot with amazing food, and with a bit more attention to drink service, it would be outstanding.
