5 little grilled shrimp around a stack of rice for $34 bucks, eh. The balsamic snails were good, but the grilled sardines were a little fishy and we left hungry. Nice ambiance and service though. From what I hear, family owned.

Thank you Nic for your feedback. We are a family owned restaurant and we are happy to hear you enjoyed the snails and the service and ambiance. We are sorry to hear the sardines were not to your taste. You are always welcome to replace your dish if it is not to your liking. The main course grilled shrimp is always supposed to come with 7 large tiger shrimp. If there were only 5 on the plate then it was an error and we apologize for that and will look into it. We are surprised that you found them that small though as they are 16/20 so a fairly good size. Did you mention anything to your waitress? We would have been happy to change your dish at no charge. We are a three-generation family of 7 who dined here on New Years Eve. We had an awesome experience. The restaurant served a pre-fixed menu and obviously planned to serve us from 8:00-midnight. They provided noisemakers and hats, wonderful food and an inviting atmosphere. The table was set against a lovely window in a semi-private space, making it easy for my hard-of-hearing father to hear. Our server, Alex, was attentive and professional with just the right hint of warmth. We creating a lasting memory of sharing a special NYE together with the help of the staff at Porto Mar. Thank you for your care for us!
