Complete disappointment! My nephew visits from Asia and wants to try poutine and smashburger for his first meal. This place seemed perfect for both, since that's all they make. Poutine: FAIL! Fries were not fresh or hot. Sauce was not hot. Sauce was not so good. Cheese was not at all melted. My nephew stopped after three bites and could not finish. I forced myself to eat half, but it was definitely the worst poutine I've ever been served. Smashburger: FAIL! First of all, it took way too long to cook. Secondly, the whole point of a smashburger are the crispy caramalized edges caused by the maillard reaction, when cooked properly. These burgers had no browning. NONE! But, they were plenty black and burnt all the way around the edges. It was disgusting! Normally, I would have spoken to someone about the shameful food we were served. However, after a particularly long and difficult day in airport traffic, I did not have the energy to explain how wrong everything was. I did not have the time to wait a second infinity to cook one smashburger on a properly heated flattop. FYI, that should take 3 minutes to cook, plus 1 to dress and plate/package, not the 12 minutes your staff took, while prematurely made luke warm poutines were getting cold on an unlamped counter. I did not want to delay or possibly embarass my foreign guest by sending back his poorly prepared poutine. Quality control standards, and staff training, needs to be drastically improved. I would be unable to return unless that happens.
