I walked past this restaurant and decided to give it a try. They were offering a lunch menu for $22.95, which included an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. I found the price reasonable and went in. The restaurant itself is not ugly — it’s decent. The service was okay at first, although the server didn’t seem to understand English very well. Things started to go downhill when we placed our order. As shown in the photo, there is no indication of an extra charge for the Pain Perdu à la Hongkongaise. However, when I ordered it, I was told there would be an additional fee. Because of that, I chose the cold drink with red beans instead. I won’t criticize the drink, as it was my first time trying it and I don’t have a reference to judge it. The main issue came with the main course. I ordered the curry pork cutlets, which arrived without the egg — unlike what is shown in the photo. When I asked about it, the server pointed out a small note at the top of the menu saying “fried egg $1.50,” far from the photo of the dish. To me, this felt clearly misleading. The food itself is average. I did enjoy the breaded pork and the Taiwanese sausage, but overall nothing stood out. There was another misleading detail: on the tables, there’s a sticker saying you get free chicken wings if you follow the restaurant and post a story. The photo shows three wings, but when I asked how many would be served, the waiter said only two per person/post. Overall, it felt like the restaurant constantly tries to mislead customers on small details. While I wouldn’t return simply because the food is average, the misleading information is the main reason I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Ordered the pork cutlet curry and it was simply perfect. The cutlets themselves were fried nicely crisp, with the inside being juicy and tender. The curry was hearty and came with plenty of vegetables to enjoy with the rice. I also received a spicy sauce. My tolerance for spice is quite high, so the flavour was bearable for me, but i’d say that it would be 5-6/10 spice for someone not accustomed to eating spicy oils. The sauce consisted of a hot oil with some seafood bits inside. I also got pork skewers; ~$7 for four of them. When I ordered, I had the option to pick between mild and spicy skewers. I chose spicy, and they came in a pleasant spice rub that was hot enough without overwhelming the senses. 10/10 customer service — The owner was very helpful in picking menu items, and when he saw that I was watching Netflix while eating, he even gave me a phone stand so I could watch comfortably. This restaurant is located a convenient 6 minute walk from Atwater station (green line). The total for the food + an iced tea drink was $29. I didn’t think it was bad at all. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. Thank you!
