My mom and I went to Pincette for Happening Gourmand (March 19th, 2026), and also to celebrate her birthday. She and I are in agreement: this was the worst meal we have ever had at a restaurant. Emphasis on the 'ever'. For our entrées, we both chose the fried shrimp with wasabi sour cream sauce, which was alright. For our mains, she chose the lobster thermidor (extra 12$ charge) which came with root vegetables. The (half) lobster was rubbery, and the root vegetables (potato and rutabaga, I think) were merely boiled, and had quite literally zero seasoning - in other words, she was served 71$ hospital food. I chose the pan-seared striped bass, which sat on a carrot-ginger coulis with candied pears, and topped with grenobloise sauce. ...Well. The grenobloise sauce was the only part of the dish that I can say anything positive about. The fish was not just underseasoned, no; it had 0 seasoning, and worse, tasted rather rancid (the last bite I dared to take resulted in pungent fish juice assaulting my taste buds to the point I was forced to leave the dish unfinished, until the waiter wordlessly cleared our table (he had probably seen my grimace)), like the fish sat defrosting in the fridge for a week after it spent a decade in the freezer before the chef boiled it then pan-fried it to give the skin a modicum of crispiness. The carrot-ginger coulis also tasted off, in a way I can't quite describe other than that it could not have been fresh. Oh, and did I forget to mention how tiny the portions were? I understand rent in the Old Port is expensive, but this was ridiculous considering what we paid. Ultimately, we left hungry and deeply unhappy, until we drove to McDonald's. Their 5$ trio deal and blueberry cheesecake pie cheered us right up. This is my very first Google review (because I'm normally too lazy for this sort of thing), but after wasting 224$ of my hard-earned money on this terrible meal, I'm feeling too angry not to say anything. The cocktails we got were fabulous, though. We happily spent 19$ a pop on those!

What a super cute place we decided to stop in on our last night in Montreal and it was absolutely delicious. The vibes are immaculate and the food is just as delicious. This definitely feels pretty upscale but the service was phenomenal and so was the food. We got the surf and turf and steak and fries and it was very delicious one of the rare times where we finished our entire plates it was that good. The perfect date spot if I do say so myself.
The servers were very nice and the atmosphere was cute! The food also had nice presentation and we had very high hopes going into it. However, the food was not good at all. To start, we ordered the lobster and snow crab poutine and we were only able to eat the fries and cheese curds. Both the lobster and crab tasted horrible. We couldn’t even stomach it. This was probably the worst lobster we have ever had. We also got the lobster roll that was 95% celery and 5% lobster. Once again we did not even finish the roll, left half of it there. Extremely disappointed by the food here, and its unbelievably overpriced. The lobster roll is $38 and so small. The plate is almost mostly salad and fries. 100% would not recommend.
Amazing food, the environment was welcoming! The customer service was excellent, Juliette our waitress did an amazing job!
Amazing service with David.
Such a cute place! We had a seat right by the window and were nice and cozy. We both had different versions of the eggs Benedict (one seafood, one ham), and they were absolutely delicious! Our server, Florence, was absolutely lovely, so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had such a nice conversation with her. It made the whole experience terrific! Highly recommend for the food, atmosphere, and the service!
Vana was excellent!
Our Waitress Vana was delightful, very chipper and very efficient. 10/10 for Vana! Atmosphere is always cozy and warm, great for winter. I really liked the clam chowder. The scallop risotto was very good but we were sad that the lobster ravioli and seafood mac & cheese weren’t on the menu anymore. All in all a very nice evening at one of our favorite restaurants in Montreal!
The oysters ever!! Would definitely recommend
Service, food and overall everything was outstanding. The staff is super friendly, ambiance is spot on. I had the lobster roll and the mi-cuit au chocolat. Everything was amazing. Prices are reasonable considering it is in the heart of Old Montreal. Would come back any time.
I went to Pincette for dinner with friends and had a great experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm and welcoming—especially our server, David. The portions were fair for the price, and the highlights for me were the clam chowder, grilled octopus, and lobster pappardelle.
Lobster roll was excellent, friendly servers great atmosphere for lunch while visiting old Montreal
Came here for valentines day ! Incredible !
Extremely disappointing experience. We waited over an hour just to receive our mains, which is unacceptable. Oysters were sold out at 6:45, I understand it was the day after Valentine’s Day, but sold out during early dinner time is unacceptable. The food was even worse. The scallop risotto had fried garlic on top that tasted very bitter and clearly burnt, completely overpowering the dish. It honestly tasted bad enough that it shouldn’t have been served. There’s not even one apology from restaurant. The mussels were overcooked and rubbery, and the fries were soggy and limp. Everything looked and tasted like leftovers that had been reheated. Long wait, poor quality food, and no attention to detail. Definitely not worth the time or money. Would not return.
Incredible restaurant! I visited from toronto with my gf and we absolutely loved it. Super kind and responsive server and the food was wildly delicious. We ordered the lobster tail and the star of the show the risotto. Food impeccable, wine delicious, and service even better i recommend checking it out
Food was excellent, worth the price! Interesting mixes for the palate. And good staff.
By far my favourite place for fresh oysters in the Vieux-Port area. Impecable service, nice cocktails.
Had the Lobster Poutine it was 10/10. Shanie gave us amazing service and always made sure our waters and wine were full. I would absolutely come back :)
