We had high expectations for this place when we made our reservation, since they were promoting local Quebec Snow Crab for the season. When we got there, the servers were actually great. The disappointment came when the food arrived. We ordered a lot of fresh oysters and more than a few came not fully shucked and with a lot of small pieces of shell contaminating the meat of the oyster. Also, the oysters weren’t very juicy or flavourful. We let it go since, maybe they were having a bad day, or a trainer was doing the shucking. Whatever. ~$48/doz. The crabcake that came next was pretty good. The crust had flavour and the aioli and fresh aromatics balanced out the dish. We thought things were getting better. $24 for one piece. We jinxed it. When the crab ceviche came, it got worse. They served the shredded crab in the shell of the leg but they put the shell in a bowl full of half melted ice. The water was contaminating the ceviche so we basically had a drowned pieces of shredded crabmeat. The seasoning or marinade, if there was any, was washed away by the time we were able to fish out the crabmeat. The toppings which included salmon caviar and pickled jalapenos on top, also fell into the water even before we attempted to pick up the crab shell. For $29, this dish is not worth it. We did complain about the ceviche and the staff offered to have a new batch delivered, which we declined. There was no saving that dish. They offered another crab cake instead, which we accepted. The second crabcake was not as good as the first one. This one seemed more haphazardly put together and it seemed they may have used less breading for this one since one side barely had any. The first one was beautifully shaped and cooked evenly, but the second one was not. The aioli was still good though. Finally, we had ordered a lobster & crab poutine ($36) what we thought was a staple Montreal dish that would be hard to botch up. Wrong. The crab had an old crab fishy aftertaste and the dish came lukewarm. The gravy was not hot enough to melt even a few of the cheese curds and the fries were no longer hot. We all know how terrible fries taste when they’ve been left out to cool down. Not great. The white stuff you see in the pic is a white sauce they put on top, that’s not melted cheese. We also reported this to the staff and they gave us another one that was hotter. Overall it was a very disappointing experience and it gives the impression the Quebec Snow Crab is not a great product. We won’t be coming back.

Lobster with melted cheese and flat fries !!! A shame . Not worth at all . Never again .
Food and atmosphere were 9/10, but service was excellent 11/10 👍🏼
This was an awesome experience.., we come to Montreal and Pincette is one place for dinner we make sure to attend
Incredible from start to finish, tasty food nice place, great service. I have one comment don’t take the baba o’ rhum. U’ll get the baba with no Rhum.
We waited about 20 minutes just to get a menu (it was not busy as we went around 3pm between lunch and dinner) we were there for some drinks and oysters. We ordered 12 Oysters and every single one had many pieces of broken shells in them and they weren’t cut off of the muscle that attaches them into the shell. So we had to use the tiny spoon to loosen them off the shell. So we could eat them. It was an awful experience to say the least. Sitting there waiting with not even a glass of water. I asked my husband “do they want us to leave?” … disappointing that we spent close to $120 on that experience.
We visited on Friday, April 10 as a table of three my wife my son, and myself. Overall, the food was excellent. The surf and turf was especially impressive, and the meat was cooked perfectly. However, I was quite concerned about a hygiene issue I witnessed. The woman preparing my wife’s guédille was using her phone and then placed it directly on the cutting board. She then continued preparing the food without washing her hands. This is honestly very unhygienic and unacceptable in a kitchen environment. Aside from this incident, we enjoyed the meal, (beside the guedilles )
Our server, Juliette, was fantastic. She was warm and welcoming, and made us elderly folks feel comfortable. She took great care of us and was very professional. Juliette is a great asset to your team.
Florence is an exceptional server. Polite, professional, attentive. She embodies the charm that Old Montreal has to offer.
Loved the food and service! We did not see they offered only the brunch menu at 2pm - however we did enjoy our food very much! The grilled lobster, lobster roll and steak were excellent. Great wine recommendations as well!
Florence was our server who is absolutely amazing. On the ball fast service with a friendly smile. Thank you so much for your service.
Florence was amazing so was my avocado toast.
Super!
Florence was the best server we had in Montreal (some might say the GOAT). Simply the best experience. She gave us tea to go for the rainy day.
Florence was great, super kind and helpful! We had a great time.
Old Montreal and we expected the place to be a tourist trap. Really great service and food quality. Friendly vibe with a hotel attached to the restaurant. Definitely give it a try!
This was a bonus restaurant I didn't anticipate trying. I took a lobster poutine and it was simply really good!
Audrey is the best!!! Her service was excellent!!
Florence was extremely pleasant and gave us some great recommendations. Tuna tartare was excellent. Great drinks. Will certainly return.
Our waiter was Florence, she was outstanding great attitude and always had a smile. She kept us hydrated and even took a photo for us. Lovely lady and she deserves to win
Florence was very lovely
Shout out Florence.
Amazing restaurant with an amazing staff
My friends and I made a reservation about an hour in advance since the restaurant is usually fully booked. We had an enjoyable evening. The staff were attentive and super helpful throughout. I especially enjoyed the lobster pappardelle (pappardelles au homard). It was rich in flavor without being too salty, and the lobster tail was perfectly tender. Overall, I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the place! C’était vraiment un endroit charmant👏👏
My mom and I went to Pincette for Happening Gourmand (March 19th, 2026), and also to celebrate her birthday. She and I are in agreement: this was the worst meal we have ever had at a restaurant. Emphasis on the 'ever'. For our entrées, we both chose the fried shrimp with wasabi sour cream sauce, which was alright. For our mains, she chose the lobster thermidor (extra 12$ charge) which came with root vegetables. The (half) lobster was rubbery, and the root vegetables (potato and rutabaga, I think) were merely boiled, and had quite literally zero seasoning - in other words, she was served 71$ hospital food. I chose the pan-seared striped bass, which sat on a carrot-ginger coulis with candied pears, and topped with grenobloise sauce. ...Well. The grenobloise sauce was the only part of the dish that I can say anything positive about. The fish was not just underseasoned, no; it had 0 seasoning, and worse, tasted rather rancid (the last bite I dared to take resulted in pungent fish juice assaulting my taste buds to the point I was forced to leave the dish unfinished, until the waiter wordlessly cleared our table (he had probably seen my grimace)), like the fish sat defrosting in the fridge for a week after it spent a decade in the freezer before the chef boiled it then pan-fried it to give the skin a modicum of crispiness. The carrot-ginger coulis also tasted off, in a way I can't quite describe other than that it could not have been fresh. Oh, and did I forget to mention how tiny the portions were? I understand rent in the Old Port is expensive, but this was ridiculous considering what we paid. Ultimately, we left hungry and deeply unhappy, until we drove to McDonald's. Their 5$ trio deal and blueberry cheesecake pie cheered us right up. This is my very first Google review (because I'm normally too lazy for this sort of thing), but after wasting 224$ of my hard-earned money on this terrible meal, I'm feeling too angry not to say anything. The cocktails we got were fabulous, though. We happily spent 19$ a pop on those!
