What guests say about Pigeon Café & Bar
Pigeon Café & Bar in Montreal is especially appreciated for its warm, nicely decorated atmosphere, with a cozy vibe that works well for brunch, coffee, or drinks. Many reviews also highlight tasty food and drinks, good portions, and popular classics like pancakes, toast, and shakshuka. On the downside, service is often seen as inconsistent or slow, and some customers find the prices high or certain tipping rules off-putting. If you go, it’s best to allow some time and go for the atmosphere as much as for the meal.

Atmosphere is amazing nice music, trees and natural lighting. BEST pastries that I’ve ever eaten in my life. SERIOUSLY
We had the most amazing experience with Emily. She is truly SUCH a sweetheart and made sure we were handled with care throughout our night!! She is one of the best servers we’ve had🫶🏼
Friendly staff and delicious food!
Went in for a coffee. It was absolutely watered down. I threw it out after a couple sips. It was the worst coffee I've had in Montreal.
I liked the location and the food was fine. The spicy chicken was not too spicy, so don’t worry about it :)
My family of three went for Brunch on Easter Sunday. It was very busy and were glad that we had reservations. The host ended up being our server as well and sat us without a beverage menu. We had to get up and get our own. He must have forgotten about us because after 15 minutes he finally came over to ask us our orders. I watched our drinks sit at the counter for about 10 minutes before he brought them to us. Our food did come relatively quickly but the poached eggs were hard boiled and the pancakes were lukewarm as well as my daughter’s hot chocolate. Overall, I was disappointed and would only recommend this location for the fake, dusty trees your camera phone won’t capture and to only go during off times.
I got a caramel latte and chocolate croissant! They were both amaaazing and I’m really picky with my coffee💕 the croissant was really fresh it tasted great
The coffee was great, the pastries were fresh and really tasty, and the whole place had such a cozy vibe. Just wish there were more pastry options to choose from.
Bought a wrap to go and it was horrible. Dry, hard, did not taste good.
Love this place. Stopped in to work while travelling on business. I ordered a latte and the Marguez. It was unbelievably tasty. I was expecting more of a diner type food, but this was 3 notches above that!. Awesome stuff!
Love the atmosphere, food is ok pricey for what you are getting according to me. The service is below 3. To have gone 3 times in different moment of the year it was terrible the 3 times. I know that if I go there I'll have to be really patient to get the order taken and brang ... 1h15 total would be minimum average to get your order taken and get your food. If you are lucky ... As even a coffee can take 30 min to get. Once we only order humus platter it took over 30 min ... 👀 You often feel forgotten by the waitress/waiters. So overall it's good spot if you are not in a rush ... Food is ok.
Excellent service, high quality delicious food and nice atmosphere. Been there twice and very much enjoyed it every time.
The coffee was great, pastries were fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere felt really cozy.
Great decor, friendly service. Coffee was just ok. My pancakes weren't great, and one was burnt. She thought her eggs were good, salad was fresh. There were areas that definitely needed dusting. Decent spot but wouldn't go out of my way.
This place is beautiful! We came in for some cocktails and were not disappointed. Gorgeous decor inside and delicious drinks. It did take a while for our drinks to be made, which is my only negative. We didn’t try the food, so we will have to be back as the dishes coming out looked amazing!
Great lunch/brunch spot. Very fresh and delicious food. Decor was really good too.
I ordered from here on Uber eats. I got Steak and Eggs & Sabich Benedict Unfortunately You dont really receive what's advertised for the sabich Benedict. No pita, no potatoes, no holandaise sauce. 2 poached eggs, some vegetables, some hummus @ $22 See images of what I received vs what's advertised. Steak and eggs were good And food was cooked as requested (medium rare & medium poached) Just disappointed that I didn't get the rest of my order.
Great place, I had a breakfast- lovely sandwich.
very calm cafe and lots of places to sit! i have been to the onein the west island that one has much more seating. i ordered the lemonade (amazing! and cold) and the spinach dip. this one was a little more bitter than i remember and there was a lot more dip than pita breads. otherwise, good! very busy, difficult to speak to the workers, somewhat responsive.
Tried this restaurant on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. The service was good, but our waiter didn’t have a full understanding of the menu, especially when it came to vegan options. We ordered the fattoush salad, the vegan version of the avocado toast, a smoked meat sandwich, fingerling potatoes on the side, and two freshly pressed orange and grapefruit drinks. The drinks were refreshing and the food was good. The fattoush was tasty, but not as good as the ones you’d get in an Arabic restaurant. The place looks nice almost like a jungle inside. I would go back.
Good service, average food, and overly priced with minimum tipping at 18% instead of the average 15% in Montreal.
I only went there for tea but I loved the atmosphere and prices were very decent for the location!!
The atmosphere is great. I really like the trees and the design of the place. The staff were super friendly. However, the food was not very good. The fattoush didn’t feel like real fattoush, and the falafel was not good either. On the positive side, the caramel latte was really good. I chose this place because I wanted somewhere I could drink coffee, work on my laptop, and have lunch — and this place offers all of that. I might give it another try; maybe other dishes are better.
We went here a couple of days ago. We were a group of 5. There was no wait time despite the weekend. But after we sat down it took a while for someone to take our order and bring the food. Probably 30 minutes. The food was good but we had to ask for utentils and napkins. Condiments as well. And each took a few minutes. The food was good and tasty. Eggs were well prepared. The juices were the best. fresh and delicious.
