I recently came here on my break and was treated with such disrespect from one of the employees, Kristen. She disreseptfully kicked me and my friend out because we did not buy anything, even after we explained to her that we were fasting but that we had no problem to leave since we did not purchase anything. This happened moments ago at 1pm, after the lunch time rush and no one else was in the cafe at the beginning of her speaking to us. As we were leaving, 2 customers came in and she then began to taunt us again infront of them when we already told her we understood and already told her we agreed to leave. She proceeded to tell us “get out of my business!”. And when we expressed that we are frequently clients at the restaurant and this is a poor way to treat clients as an owner, she then admitted she was not the owner but that we can speak to the owner. This just felt like a power tactic for us to be intimidated when we were just there on break from work, not looking for any issues. We’ve had great experiences previously with other employees but Kristen definitely made going back to work from our break unpleasant.

Hello Mishka, I'm the owner of Petites Gamines and though I was not present during this incident, I have reviewed the video/audio of it thoroughly and am finding some discrepancies with your account of it. As a business, we're forced to remind customers that though we do appreciate their patronage, we are indeed a business and just like outside foods are not accepted, our very limited seated space is in fact for current paying customers, not past customers looking for a place to take a break. You will find that this is a common practice from most small businesses. There is no comfortable way to adress this on the spot, but being put in a position to explain this will often lead to a situation like this.
