The vegetarian “three fresh” pan-fried dumplings were a pleasant surprise. The filling was well-balanced and not greasy, perfect if you prefer something lighter. Paired with pork and chive xiao long bao, the chive aroma was noticeable but not overwhelming. The overall meal felt light and satisfying.
Reviews / Ratings for Petit Poisson Dumpling
I ordered squid pan-fried dumplings, as well as beef with onion and chicken with mushroom versions. They were cooked well, with slightly crispy bottoms but not greasy. There was still some soup inside when you bite into them. The beef filling was chewier, while the chicken was more tender—each had its own character.
This time I mainly tried the beef with onion and pork with cabbage xiao long bao. The beef and onion had a rich aroma, with the onion adding a slight sweetness, creating a layered flavor. The pork and cabbage was more homestyle—mild but not bland. The restaurant was clean, and the food was served at a reasonable speed.
Excellent kimchi and handmade dumplings! Such a beautiful place. We are going to be repeat customers ☺️
I absolutely recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a cozy spot in the city! If you are a fan of authentic Shanghainese dim sum, the sweet meat xiao long bao here is a total game-changer. Each dumpling is expertly pleated with a thin, delicate skin that holds a surprising amount of rich, savory, and incredibly juicy soup inside. One bite, and you get that perfect explosion of flavor that defines a top-tier soup dumpling. Beyond the food, the interior decoration is truly one-of-a-kind. It’s not your typical cookie-cutter restaurant; it has a distinctive character and a creative flair that makes the entire dining experience feel special. The lighting is warm and the layout creates an incredibly comfortable atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this small shop offers a level of quality and coziness that is hard to find elsewhere. I’ve been thinking about that broth ever since I left, and I’ll definitely be coming back for my dumpling fix very soon!
Their old pan fried dumpling recipe was better in my opinion. Still a lovely place for a good chat with friends over some juicy fresh dumplings
Yum yum! Small place (let's call it cozy) but well worth the wait. Sometimes shared tables- make a friend! Food was super good. Being Chinese, we have high standards. This fit into the good category. I would return for comfort food in Montréal again.
Such a great spot! The flavors were authentic, and the portions were generous. The staff were attentive, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable !
I visited this Chinese restaurant and ordered the combo of fried dumplings with pork, shrimp, and scallops. It turned out to be really good. The flavors were rich and everything tasted freshly made. I finished the whole plate without hesitation !
Nice little spot to have some tasty dumplings 🥟
Family’s new favorite dumpling restaurant. Delicious cucumber salad! Homemade sauces, lamb and coriander fillings, a few gluten free options.
Absolutely delicious and amazing staff!
Really awesome fried and soup dumplings as well as starters, including the cucumber salad and cold noodle dishes. The service was very good and I could sit for hours watching those ladies up front churning out batches of freshly made dumplings!
Truely wonderful comfort food in a cosy place. Takes you to Hong Kong or Chongqin without leaving the city. Splendid!
We were so lucky to pass this little Chinese restaurant. The food was so delicious, we couldn't stop eating, and our stomachs were full and happy! Highly recommended! If you're looking for delicious and simple Chinese food, for sure you will find food to satisfy your taste buds here.
Cozy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. The fried beef and onion dumplings were really tasty, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Portions were decent and nicely presented. Service was friendly and efficient. I’d definitely come back for the dumplings !
Excellent dumplings, both steamed and fried. The peanut butter dumplings were a bit too spicy but I guess that is a matter of taste.
Best dumplings and great service!
I think these were the best dumplings I’ve had in Montreal! Place is small and adorable and everyone was so kind!
just a regular dumpling place. no chilli or chilli oil for dumpling if you want pay extra 😂 too crowded and a small place. so expect to wait in the queue. veg dumpling was super average. Agneau was okay. Desserts no comments. go eat dumpling if hungry and if your hunger can wait. eat and leave!
Delicious dumplings! They make them in front of you. The restaurant is filled with their yummy dumplings smell. The service is very fast and the menu is easy to choose from. Even though the place is a bit small, it's very comfortable. I recommend trying this place!
Stumbled upon this dumpling place by chance and wow — so good. Friendly service and the food was a solid 10/10. Tried the soup dumplings and the fried ones, and both were amazing. Highly recommend!
