The food looks good but I didn’t get to try it because the service was rude and bad, so I got tired of waiting to order and left. Edited to add: I’m aware that Le Central is a food court. I live here and I’m not a tourist. Before we sat down, I asked the guy at the cash register—in both English and French—if Ragù could accommodate two people for dinner without a reservation, and also if we could sit at a table instead of at the counter. He said yes. I assumed that meant something, but apparently not, because we were ignored until I ran out of patience and time, and left.

Ragù is located inside Le Central, which operates primarily as a food-court style space where guests usually order directly at the counter. While we sometimes offer table service to guests seated around our kiosk when possible, the communal tables generally operate on a self-service basis.
From what our team recalls, it appears there was a misunderstanding about this system. Because there was no indication that you wished to order from Ragù, our staff continued serving guests seated directly at the counter. When it became clear that you wanted to order, we were happy to take care of you, but unfortunately you had already decided to leave.
We are always happy to serve anyone who would like to try our food, and we do our best to make the experience pleasant for everyone. As a small independent business, a one-star review can have a significant impact, especially when it results from a misunderstanding. We truly hope you might consider giving us another chance if you return to Montreal.
