I would strongly recommend staying away from Pappou Souvlaki. I placed a takeout order an hour and a half in advance, yet the order was still about 25 minutes late. That was already disappointing, but the bigger issue was the food preparation. When I arrived, I noticed that the chicken souvlaki was being reheated in the microwave. I asked the owner about it, and his response was that he “had no choice.” There was no apology and no concern, as if serving microwaved chicken at a restaurant is normal. One of the staff members even commented that he microwaves food at home as well. But that’s exactly the point — people go to restaurants expecting freshly prepared food, not something reheated in a microwave. If I wanted microwaved chicken, I could easily do that at home and save the money. Between the delay, the microwaved food, and the lack of acknowledgment from the owner, the experience was very disappointing. See the videos showing how the food was reheated.
