From a local - this place has gone downhill recently. It used to be my favourite spot for croissants and pain au chocolat. The last few times we went, both of these items tasted stale and like they had been sitting on the counter for a few days. After re-trying it a few times to make sure I wasn't going crazy, we won't be back.

Amazing cafe with delicious pastries!! I really loved how they have live music ❤️ Welcoming for anglo tourists would reccomend stopping by!
As a local i know the pastries are good here. But i went one evening with a friend around 6. There was 3 employees chatting behind the counter and we stood there for over 5 minutes without being served. So we just left!
Went here due to reviews and tourist lists but was unimpressed
Atmosphere is lacking but very good pastries
Fresh breads, great coffee, good prices, friendly staff. Breakfast combo was perfect.
Pretty expensive for a sandwich. The taste was pretty good. I recommend it but the price is a little bit high
The croissant was actually good, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. The staff were rude, shouting, and had a very bad attitude toward customers. If you are not speaking French, you are very likely to face rude behavior, which made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Good food does not make up for poor service. I would not return unless the staff’s attitude seriously improves.
One of the staff members had a poor attitude, and the almond croissant was disappointing.
Customer Service Like a Prison Even though this is a tourist area—where most customers are first-time visitors—the system in the restaurant was unnecessarily complicated, and the staff were unbelievably irritable and unhelpful. When I first spoke to a staff member, I honestly started to wonder if I had walked into a prison by mistake instead of a bakery. The tone was lecturing and authoritarian—like a prison guard. I ordered the Caesar chicken salad. The bread was cold, the salad was shockingly salty, and there were hardly any vegetables. I was genuinely surprised. If someone ate this menu every day, I’d worry they’d die young. My daughter and I had planned a special breakfast in Québec City—“Let’s have something delicious!”—so we chose this place because the reviews were excellent. I regret it from the bottom of my heart. Now I understand why the restaurant was empty.
Every single item we bought tasted delicious! Mushroom soup was the best mushroom soup I have ever tasted in my life! Service is exelent, lady on register was superfriendly. Great atmosphere. Thank you!
If you like eclairs, be sure to get it here
