A little pricey but very good!
What guests say about Ottavio
Ottavio in Laval receives a lot of praise for the quality of its food, especially the pastas, pizzas, and several seafood dishes, with portions often considered generous. The service is frequently described as fast, courteous, and attentive, and many customers also appreciate the gluten-free menu, vegan options, and the bring-your-own-wine policy. A few reviews do mention somewhat high prices, portions that are sometimes small, and, on occasion, slower or inconsistent service when it is busy.

The staff was amazing. We had a very respectful young men that took care of us during our night. We were 4 and we ordered pizzas and pastas. I didn’t order mussels because I heard someone complain that they weren’t properly cleaned. The pizza was delicious but it was a little bit greasy. However, the pasta was a completely different story. It had little to no taste and the portion was ridiculously small for the amount we paid for. I am very aware that restaurants nowadays are pricy. But come on you guys, at least cover the bottom of the bowl. Washrooms were clean and new!
Exceptional care & service
It’s a good place to go if you are celiac, but it is nothing special and slow service. Food is ok depending on what you order. Good for groups as there are many choices and fair prices. Byow too
Great experience at Ottavio! We came without a reservation and were still warmly accommodated, which we really appreciated. The service was excellent, and I especially loved the special attention given to allergies, it made us feel very comfortable. The location itself is clean, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
FULL GLUTEN FREE MENU! My sister and I both have Celiac’s disease and were visiting Montreal for the weekend. We were SO excited to find that Ottavio had a full gluten free menu! When we called to order they ensured that everything, fryer included, was safe. When we arrived to pick up our food, the bag, receipt, and individual boxes were all labeled “gluten free” and had “allergy alert” stickers on them. We were so impressed by the service and precautions and felt so safe eating our meals. And on top of that, the food was delicious!
Food was good but pasta portions are too small. My plate was identical to my son's kids menu plate. Had to go to burger King next door cause I was still hungry. Ask for bread cause you will need it.
Linguini with duck and cavatelli with wild mushrooms as well as a chocolate dessert with ice cream were exceptional! Pizza was ok. Staff were nice and attentive. Portions were small for the price , put great taste and service balanced it:)
Highly recommend this restaurant. The management and wait staff were very friendly and professional. Lots of GF options. Will definitely return!
Very nice
Nice place, fast service, food is good, Calamari were tender.
Still a decent place to eat. The restaurant has aged somewhat and the meanu has less options than a few years ago. However they have an ardoise menu now with specials and options that are refreshing. For the price its decent. Also they have a ton of Gluten Free options which is a big plus.
Very affordable food and since you bring your own wine your bill is less than $20 including tip for lunch specials.
I just had to search the name of this restaurant and leave this comment without anyone asking for it. Insanely respectful and sympathetic staff. Especially that one middle age man, he is really nice. I think he is either the manager or supervisor. Great guy.
$40 for the most normal home-cooked tasting. Cheap and small portion of pasta. I can't believe people go there. How can you charge so much for something that cost $5 and is not even that good has almost no meat in it
The service was a bit slow but we came during a busy night. The menu is quite wide and everyone at our table manage to find something convenient for them
An absolute amazing restaurant. Food and service were both above and beyond
Food is fantastic, especially angel hair shrimp pasta. Mussels are also great. All you can eat on Mondays and Tuesdays
The ambiance was inviting and cozy, with great vegan cuisine. Although the dishes were flavorful, they could benefit from reduced oil content. Additionally, a broader selection of vegan desserts would be a welcome addition. We enjoyed the vegan veggie fusilli and veggie pizza. The small bread served was exceptionally delicious, and I wish they had offered more than one serving! :)
