A bit of a wait, but every dish we ordered was superb. Rare to see such a consistent higher level across everything... so we were enticed to try the desserts as well (which is unusual for us). Did not disappoint. Thank you! One thing... BYOB is really BYOB here. No alcohol at all as we discovered... was expecting maybe I could get a beer. Not a criticism just warning others to come prepared.
What guests say about Othym
Othym seems to offer creative Quebec cuisine that is well presented and often described as delicious, with generally warm and efficient service. Several customers also appreciate the friendly atmosphere, the option to bring your own wine, and menu choices suited to certain diets. However, a few reviews point out small portions, prices perceived as high, and service that is sometimes uneven or a bit noisy.

O-Thym is a precious treasure in Montreal's village. It's a small and friendly BYOB restaurant specializing in quebecoise cuisine. It's convenient to reserve a table in advance, which is highly recommended as they will fill up quickly. The service is friendly and efficient. I'm glad that they have survived the pandemic and I hope they continue to thrive in the future.
Almost all dishes shared between the 5 of us were truly special. In each case, they were a little unusual and totally delicious. However, in the last 2 times I have been at O'Thym, the fish dishes were less interesting or tasty than the other dishes experienced.
Wow! Love the menu and it was a great girl’s night! It’s a BYOW restaurant.
Best in class food. We had bread with brown butter, sunchokes, duck hearts (my favorite) and Canard Goulu duck. The service was fantastic, too.
Great evening. Thank-you very much.
Amazing food and amazing service, we had such an amazing time and tried almost everything on the menu!
I’ve dined here several times and it’s consistently been a great experience — the food is outstanding, beautifully presented, and the overall concept, atmosphere, and ambiance are truly top-notch. It’s a place I’ve always enjoyed and recommended. However, my experience last night was disappointing. We arrived about 15 minutes late due to difficulty finding parking, and were immediately informed that we would only be allowed to stay for two hours. Considering our bill came to around $400, this felt inappropriate and frankly very embarrassing, as we had invited friends. I completely understand the need for reservations and timing, but communicating it in that way took away from what is otherwise a high-quality dining experience. It’s not something I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, and it unfortunately lowered the overall impression. I hope this is something that can be reconsidered in the future, as it doesn’t reflect the level of service the rest of the experience delivers.
This is the best meal I’ve eaten in 2026. Each dish was so unique, well balanced, and refreshing. We started with a sea urchin topped with a spinach foam that was both earthy and briny. The snow crab tart was delicious and the leeks are not to be missed. The smoked yogurt accompanying the sunchokes was incredibly memorable. And the Mai take mushrooms were the star of the meal full of so much flavor and umami, it was a perfect dish.
Amazing meal! Loved the leek & the snow crab tart. Desserts are also unique and very innovative - really enjoyed the miso caramel. BYOB :)
Went as a group and we had the group menu and man was it worth it. Everything was soo delicious. They offered us the bread and homemade maple butter 🤤🤤, so good. The staff was so friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. Love the ambiance of, as well. I had the Tartarre d'agneau, as an entree, Agneau à Dominic Roxton-Fall as main course and Crème Brûlée à l'érable and man, they were all delicious. Highly recommend going there.
We had a great experience here! We are vegetarian and there was so much we could eat. Vibes and food were both excellent.
Great experience all around. Dishes were unique and perfect flavour combinations. The crème brûlée was amazing. Staff were also very friendly.
Solid BYOB with fresh, standout dishes like the seared leek and Angelica Cream. However, the flavors lack a little bit of depth and nuance you’d expect for a $100+ per person price tag.
What a fantastic place . The food is absolutely delicious, the service is great and the atmosphere very pleasant. Is I'd a bit pricey? Maybe but it worth it. Very unique dishes and flavors. 5 stars
Loved everything we ordered. If it was socially acceptable to lick the dish, I would have done so. Would for sure recommend for a special occasion cause it definitely hits the mark. Service was super good and they even asked us in the beginning after taking our order if we had an event to attend to make sure they bring everything out in time for us to make it to our show.
The food is excellent, with beautiful presentation, well-balanced seasoning, and thoughtfully prepared seasonal dishes—although the menu was somewhat limited, likely because we dined in March. The restaurant itself is elegantly decorated, offering a refined, classic ambiance that enhances the overall experience. The service, however, was just okay. We were seated at the bar, and initially our server seemed somewhat annoyed. After a few interactions, she warmed up a bit and even offered a few smiles. She did provide some suggestions, though only after we initiated the conversation. Unfortunately, she did not refill our wine or water glasses at any point during the meal. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates a high-level culinary experience, though the service could use some improvement.
Absolutely excellent experience. Super friendly staff, respected our time limit (we had a show right after supper). The smoked pasta was sublime, the dish with the smoked yogurt was very interesting and tasted amazing, and the deer dish in the « third act » was to die for. Go eat there or be square.
We ordered the seared leeks, the roasted artichokes, the fingerling potatoes, the maïtake mushrooms and the lamburger steak. I wasn't crazy about the artichokes and the potatoes, but everything else was phenomenal. Very melt-in-your-mouth and buttery. The portions are a little small for the price. The atmosphere was great, very warm and welcoming. My only complaint is that I asked them in the reservation to bring a surprise dessert out for my boyfriend's birthday, and it didn't happen.
Loved this place! Beautiful, creative and exquisite food, warm service.
E X C E L L E N T !!!
We enjoyed an amazing long format dinner of a little bit of everything off the menu and will need to save some room for dessert next time we visit.
What a lovely meal! My friend and I were looking for a nice BYOW and were not disappointed. We at the bar/counter and watched all the delicious food come out :) Our waitress was VERY lovely and her recommendations about the menu were very appreciated. We had 2 lighters veggies plates, one heartier mushroom dish (so good!) then I had the deer stew (REALLY GOOD) and my friend the duck. She would have taken a larger plate but all was very good. Definitely get the bread with maple-whipped butter!!!
Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff with delicious food - extremely interesting flavours and taste combinations. You won’t be disappointed. Bring your own wine.
This was our first time at this location. The space is fabulous, great vibe and fabulous food and service. We will be back!! So much more to discover!
