This was our first visit at O-Thym. What an absolute gem! The owners are very hands on and extremely attentive to their customers. The service is exceptional…. fast and friendly but not rushed. Between the four of us, we were able to experience roughly half of their current menu. The menu is very creative and the presentation is beautiful. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Just to mention a few of the dishes that we indulged ourselves with, yellow pea croquettes with Guinea fowl liver mousse with shiso vinegar gel, fiddleheads with duck egg in crab bisque, the northern shrimp tartlet and the morel mushrooms with butter, asparagus and miso. We also had the lamb with the most amazingly tender gnudi, the Cote Nord halibut which is so unctuously tender and flaky. My personal favourite is the duck with Swiss chard, beet and cranberries. O-Thym is a true culinary extravaganza for foodies. Looking forward to returning here for another wonderful dining experience.
What guests say about Othym
O’Thym seems to offer creative, well-presented cuisine, often described as delicious, original, and focused on local ingredients. The service is generally warm, efficient, and attentive, and many appreciate the bring-your-own-wine policy as well as the friendly atmosphere. However, a few reviews mention small portions, a sometimes high noise level, and inconsistent value for money depending on the dishes.

The food is expensive but well worth…Food is innovative tasty fresh andhealthy. Audrey the maitre d is as selective and considerate as an owner…I recommend this place highly
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Montreal! Every dish was the perfect balance of flavours, creativity, and also beautifully assembled. Our server Audrey was so kind and attentive. I wish I could go back every day.
Flawless
Food was well presented, tasted great with focus it seemed on having different textures In the dishes ...this is a restaurant with returning to
Creative menu, excellent service. What a lovely dining experience!
O’Thym is a restaurant serving fresh and creative plates. On our particular visit, the bread, first and second courses were absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, the main courses consisted of extremely fatty parts of lamb and duck with only a few edible bites each. For desert, crème brûlée was the best option by far! Decor is lack luster, tables are super close together and service was uneven. The gentleman waiting on tables was very attentive and nice while the hostess was not. For the money, other options are far better!
The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious.
This was among the best of all the places we visited in montreal. The creativity of the food, the presentation, effort made to explain, and taste well exceeded my expectations. The bring your own wine policy allows you to have a much nicer bottle of wine with your meal for the same price as a typical restaurant of this calibre. Well done!
Lovely, small, local place with excellent, imaginative food.
A bit of a wait, but every dish we ordered was superb. Rare to see such a consistent higher level across everything... so we were enticed to try the desserts as well (which is unusual for us). Did not disappoint. Thank you! One thing... BYOB is really BYOB here. No alcohol at all as we discovered... was expecting maybe I could get a beer. Not a criticism just warning others to come prepared.
O-Thym is a precious treasure in Montreal's village. It's a small and friendly BYOB restaurant specializing in quebecoise cuisine. It's convenient to reserve a table in advance, which is highly recommended as they will fill up quickly. The service is friendly and efficient. I'm glad that they have survived the pandemic and I hope they continue to thrive in the future.
Almost all dishes shared between the 5 of us were truly special. In each case, they were a little unusual and totally delicious. However, in the last 2 times I have been at O'Thym, the fish dishes were less interesting or tasty than the other dishes experienced.
Wow! Love the menu and it was a great girl’s night! It’s a BYOW restaurant.
Best in class food. We had bread with brown butter, sunchokes, duck hearts (my favorite) and Canard Goulu duck. The service was fantastic, too.
Great evening. Thank-you very much.
Amazing food and amazing service, we had such an amazing time and tried almost everything on the menu!
I’ve dined here several times and it’s consistently been a great experience — the food is outstanding, beautifully presented, and the overall concept, atmosphere, and ambiance are truly top-notch. It’s a place I’ve always enjoyed and recommended. However, my experience last night was disappointing. We arrived about 15 minutes late due to difficulty finding parking, and were immediately informed that we would only be allowed to stay for two hours. Considering our bill came to around $400, this felt inappropriate and frankly very embarrassing, as we had invited friends. I completely understand the need for reservations and timing, but communicating it in that way took away from what is otherwise a high-quality dining experience. It’s not something I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, and it unfortunately lowered the overall impression. I hope this is something that can be reconsidered in the future, as it doesn’t reflect the level of service the rest of the experience delivers.
This is the best meal I’ve eaten in 2026. Each dish was so unique, well balanced, and refreshing. We started with a sea urchin topped with a spinach foam that was both earthy and briny. The snow crab tart was delicious and the leeks are not to be missed. The smoked yogurt accompanying the sunchokes was incredibly memorable. And the Mai take mushrooms were the star of the meal full of so much flavor and umami, it was a perfect dish.
Amazing meal! Loved the leek & the snow crab tart. Desserts are also unique and very innovative - really enjoyed the miso caramel. BYOB :)
Went as a group and we had the group menu and man was it worth it. Everything was soo delicious. They offered us the bread and homemade maple butter 🤤🤤, so good. The staff was so friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. Love the ambiance of, as well. I had the Tartarre d'agneau, as an entree, Agneau à Dominic Roxton-Fall as main course and Crème Brûlée à l'érable and man, they were all delicious. Highly recommend going there.
We had a great experience here! We are vegetarian and there was so much we could eat. Vibes and food were both excellent.
Great experience all around. Dishes were unique and perfect flavour combinations. The crème brûlée was amazing. Staff were also very friendly.
Solid BYOB with fresh, standout dishes like the seared leek and Angelica Cream. However, the flavors lack a little bit of depth and nuance you’d expect for a $100+ per person price tag.
What a fantastic place . The food is absolutely delicious, the service is great and the atmosphere very pleasant. Is I'd a bit pricey? Maybe but it worth it. Very unique dishes and flavors. 5 stars
