So many of my friends told me, “If you ever visit Toronto, Original Shawarma is a must.” I never got the chance to visit their Toronto location, but when I traveled to Montreal, I made sure not to miss it—and they absolutely did not let me down. From the moment I arrived, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The food is simply amazing. What I really loved is that they don’t limit themselves to just Levant-style shawarma; they also offer Yemeni Mandi, which shows the depth and diversity of their menu. I couldn’t resist, so I ordered a plate of each—and I’m so glad I did. Everything was top-notch. The presentation was perfect, and the attention to detail really stood out. The Mandi comes with crunchy almonds and raisins, plus a side of harissa, which adds an incredible flavor. The lamb shank was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and beautifully placed on top of the rice. The shawarma plate was just as impressive, served with garlic sauce, pickles, ketchup, and fries on the side—everything you’d want, done right. Original Shawarma truly lives up to its reputation. This place comes highly recommended, and I’ll definitely be back on my next visit.
