What guests say about Oriental Fusion

Reviews are mixed, but many customers find the Chinese/Cantonese food very tasty, with generous portions and service that is often quick and friendly. Some people also mention a good atmosphere and a satisfying experience for group meals. On the other hand, a few comments mention overly long waits, abrupt service, a dining room that is cold in winter, and some fees seen as unclear.

It was a really nice lunch. The food is very good and the portions humongous (prepare yourselves to ask for doggie bags for the leftovers). It's just in front the metro station Namur, very comfortable. The service was fast and kind with us. It's the typical place where families and big groups of people spend the Sunday together and share the huge portions (that's what i would suggest to do, also to try everything). We tried the dumplings, the shrimps ones were delicious, the best of my life! Then Singapore style noodles, custard steam buns and honeycomb, I'm still ecstatic for the texture of the cake, cause it was just excellent! I tried a couple of times to make it at home, it's too hard :') The prices are in the average (3 cups of steam white rice, noodles, 3 portions of dumplings, a coke, tea, steam buns and honeycomb + tips and taxes 101$). I recommend the dinner time, cause the menu is richer.

History preface, I was weaned on authentic Chinese cuisine as my mother and step father lived in Hong Kong 50 years ago and loved to advance their Chinese food experience with homemade cuisine. My love for Chinese food never diminished but in my dark ages visits to Chinese food places diminished marketly as my wife was more oriented to Chinese at home which largely negates the freshness and fine tastes of the cuisine. Oriental Fusion, corner of Jean Talon and Decarie, across the street from the Namur metro and with plentiful parking is not good ,it is outstanding!!. I have tried both dinner and dim sum with the same passionate satisfaction as if I was born again. Chan, the owner and chef at this basement location as well as the Fu Lam chain(4) of buffet style restaurants, is committed to serving more traditional, authentic foods at this location versus food from steam chafing vessels in a buffet style operation. Dim sum is cooked to order at Oriental Fusion as opposed to chariot style delivery where offerings can lose their freshness after circulating around the room more than once. I sampled shumai, beef balls, spareribs in black bean sauce and chicken feet on this occasion. Each item was better than the next one - Moist big firm Shumai filled with shrimp and pork in a transparent skin/ wrap, soft wet beef balls flavored with ginger and garlic and as light/ fluffy as matzah balls, meaty without exception garlic spareribs in a mild black bean sauce and finally succulent skin dominant chicken feet in a sweet sauce. My evening experience was equally impressive. Besides the Peking Duck where the meatier pieces were devoured before I had a chance to engage, a lightly fried tofu dish topped with whole shrimp and a aluminum wrapped steamed egg plant with a souffle like shrimp interior were outstanding. One word of caution is that waitstaff use portable pictured tablets to take orders. There must be printed menus but I have yet to see them. As such I would suggest going online to find the over 120 dishes in the Uber Eats section of the Google forward. Failing this better familiarity, when in Oriental Fusion,do as the Romans would do and ask for help from the informed Chinese staff. In short, Oriental Fusion in the basement of Koyo,an all you can eat sushi restaurant, represents winning the Stanley Cup of Chinese food .

We had such a great evening. We ordered too many dishes but still managed to eat almost everything. We have the best servers. Vicki and Kitty took such good care of us and made my husband, kids, grandma and I feel at home. Highly recommend ordering the chilli chicken! We’ll be back again and again!

Pleasantly surprised. Not sure if it was tastier because we went around Lunar New Year week? This restaurant would most probably be my go-to-place for MSG fix, if I lived in that area. Everything we ordered was pretty tasty. Enough to make me want to make my way there again as soon as my kidneys clear that MSG from my system. The dim sum was good (by Montreal standard). Spareribs cut were lean but not too lean. Steamed almost to perfection. Not quite fall off the bone but we did not struggle to get the meat off. A bit more cooked just so that we can sink our teeth into the soft cartilage would have been great (I see you there, my cartilage crunching peeeps!!). Taste was great. Just salty enough to enjoy that pork flavour. The bean curd rolls were great! Soft outside, bambooshizzle goodness tender but just crunchy enough inside. I had 2 and I would have finished off the third one if my tablemate would have not picked the last one. The pork BBQ buns were great. Not exploding with fillings but the filling was sweat-savory balanced and the dough was fluffy. The cantonese chow mein was good. Decent sized but it was well cooked. Shrimps were not deveined but they had that bouncy quality and abundant. Chicken was breast meat but not dry. Lots of crunchy veggies. Everything was nicely dripped with a thick sauce but not so much sauce that you had a flooding situation. There was still much crunchy noodles left. The beef noodles were good but lacked that hot wok from hell fiery and smokey quality. Lots of beef. Not thick slices but still tender and moist. They did not feel overdosed with tenderizer. Bean sprouts were still crunchy and still had some structure to it. No flop here. Bonus: the dish was not overly greasy but still had an inviting glow. Negative comment last: what is up with their hot mustard? It so liquidy and powdery. And why sweet? Feels like watered-down Heinz honey mustard to which they added mustard powder. Did not like it. And oh, is this a speakeasy? You need to go inside an AYCE sushi and then take a staircase to the basement to find this Chinese restaurant.

We arrived at 5:30 pm, and it wasn't too crowded yet. After ordering, only one soup was served within 30 minutes. The waiter said the other dishes would take another 30 minutes to prepare and told us we could either wait or leave. Very poor service attitude!

I ordered from the Oriental Fusion platform and naver received my order. They told me it was up to me to initiate the refund process, even though they themselves dealt with a third party. In my opinion, this isn't legal and offers no protection for the consumer. Very poor service.

It appears the resto having new chef cook as after couple of years without visiting this place, the foods are now realized at great taste ! Prices are affordables, the services are quick and warm. And as a restaurant of Chinese foods, the ambient room often less tranquil when plenty of eaters.

The food was divine. 😍 we had chow mein, sesame beef and salt and pepper pork chops. Oh my goodness! The best chow mein and beef sesame I have ever had!!!! 10/10 experience. The price is a bit on the pricier side but the size does compensate. Would definitely visit again. The place is in koyo restaurant but underground so you don’t really see it.
