It's solid Chinese food, it not the best and there was certainly some flaws in some of the dishes but some of them are good. The chow mein is something I do not recommend for sure though. They also used to have it where you can also order from the sushi restaurant upstairs but not anymore.

I've been to Oriental Fusion a couple of times now with my wife and in-laws. It's a Chinese restaurant located near Boulevard Décarie and the Namur metro, and one of the first things you notice is that it sits in the basement, below another restaurant. It's a bit of an unusual setup, but once you head downstairs, the space opens up considerably. The dining room is very spacious and can accommodate pretty much any size of group. That makes it a practical choice for family gatherings, where finding a restaurant that can seat everyone comfortably isn't always easy. The menu selection is large, covering a wide range of Chinese dishes along with dim sum, so there's something for everyone at the table. With a group, that variety makes it easy to order a spread of dishes to share and try a little of everything. Service is fast, even when the restaurant is busy. Dishes came out quickly on both visits, and the staff kept things moving efficiently, which is a real plus when you're dining with a larger family group. The food is tasty, but my one significant criticism is the seasoning. On both of our visits, the dishes were way over seasoned. The underlying flavours were good, but they were often buried under far too much seasoning, to the point where it took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Since it happened both times, it seems to be a consistent style rather than a one-off, and I'd love to see the kitchen dial it back and let the ingredients speak for themselves. If you need a place that can easily host a big group, with a large menu and quick service, Oriental Fusion certainly checks those boxes. Just be prepared for bold, heavily seasoned food, and consider asking whether they can go lighter on the seasoning when you order.

Went there with my family with a recommendation from a Chinese friend. The amount of dish choices was overwhelming. It will take years before I try all of those. LOL. They all looked amazing. I especially liked the fact that we could order the food using a tablet with each image of the dish. The food was good, the price is on the higher end compared to other standard Chinese restaurants. The service was decent. But one of the main deal breaker for me was the noise. It was unbearable... It was way too loud. Probably due to the way the dinning room was designed. I had to block my ears with tissues to block out the surrounding noises, which was my first time ever in a restaurant. Other than that, we enjoyed the food. Oh and they charge the take out containers for the leftover take out. This was new to me as well. If it wasn't the noise issue, I would like to go try it again as they do seem to have a great choice of food ... but I am a bit reluctant to do it. Maybe I will wear my noise suppressing ear buds on my next visit. 😆

We ate during a week day, it was veey busy. Traditional chinese food was good. Not too salty or greasy. Family friendly, but lots of stairs. Not Wheelchair friendly; therfore people with special needs will not be able to utilize downstairs settings.

Me and my family were on vacation in Montreal, we drove a total of 9+ hours all the way from Lincoln, Ontario. Here is our background, we are Chinese in fact we have lived in China for over 10+ years so yea we do speak fluent Chinese as well as English. I’ll tell you about my experience in Oriental Fusion, the customer service was horrid, it took about 10-30 minutes just trying to order food. The waiters were too busy having conversations and gossiping over doing their jobs, my grandfather had to call a waiter about 15 times until one finally responded. When we also asked for fried squid tentacles for takeout, and when they brought the wrong thing over we told them that it was okay but that it was the wrong thing. But instead of making things right, one of the waitresses started arguing about how “we didn’t specify which one we wanted” which wasn’t true, I would know because I was the one who ordered it. I will link a video below of my grandfather being shamed for something that wasn’t his fault, it is in a different language

incredibly slow service, waiters have horrible customer service and barely pay attention when someone is trying to order food. food was mid and most of it was cold, all the waiters are busy having conversations rather than serving customers and doing their jobs.

Went for dimsum. You order from a tablet. It is prepared and served after you order so it comes out piping hot! The price is higher than other dimsum place and they charge a tea fee, but it is worth it. It is in the basement of a sushi place.

Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. While eating the cheung fun, I found what appeared to be a thick body hair in the food. It definitely did not look like a strand of head hair. I immediately informed the staff, and the initial response was simply "Oh," followed by an offer to remove the item from the bill. However, when the check arrived, the cheung fun was still included, so I had to point it out again before it was corrected. After finding the hair, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't enjoy the rest of my meal. The overall cleanliness of the restaurant was also concerning. The dining area felt musty, and there was a noticeable odor from the washroom spreading into the restaurant. Everyone can make mistakes, but food safety, cleanliness, and handling customer complaints professionally are essential. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below expectations, and I won't be returning.

The basement is extremely stuffy, the food doesn't taste good, and the service attitude is extremely poor. They insist on a 15% tip, and even 10% is not accepted. On top of that, the 15% tip is calculated on the after-tax total. Please think carefully before deciding to go.

Very upset got there at 7pm and they were already out of cockroaches which restaurants doesn’t keep stock at least until 9pm. Next time I’ll make sure to get there for 6pm.

First time trying Oriental Fusion and I was genuinely surprised by how good everything was. The food quality was excellent, portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Their Chinese food has a unique touch compared to many other restaurants in Montreal. The restaurant is also great for groups since most tables are large and comfortable. I also liked the iPad ordering system because you can take your time browsing and ordering. The only downside for me was the service, which could definitely be improved, but overall the food and experience were worth it. I’ll definitely be back!

It was a really nice lunch. The food is very good and the portions humongous (prepare yourselves to ask for doggie bags for the leftovers). It's just in front the metro station Namur, very comfortable. The service was fast and kind with us. It's the typical place where families and big groups of people spend the Sunday together and share the huge portions (that's what i would suggest to do, also to try everything). We tried the dumplings, the shrimps ones were delicious, the best of my life! Then Singapore style noodles, custard steam buns and honeycomb, I'm still ecstatic for the texture of the cake, cause it was just excellent! I tried a couple of times to make it at home, it's too hard :') The prices are in the average (3 cups of steam white rice, noodles, 3 portions of dumplings, a coke, tea, steam buns and honeycomb + tips and taxes 101$). I recommend the dinner time, cause the menu is richer.

History preface, I was weaned on authentic Chinese cuisine as my mother and step father lived in Hong Kong 50 years ago and loved to advance their Chinese food experience with homemade cuisine. My love for Chinese food never diminished but in my dark ages visits to Chinese food places diminished marketly as my wife was more oriented to Chinese at home which largely negates the freshness and fine tastes of the cuisine. Oriental Fusion,corner of Jean Talon and Decarie,across the street from the Namur metro and with plentiful parking is not good ,it is outstanding!!. I have tried both dinner and dim sum with the same passionate satisfaction as if I was born again. Chan, the owner and chef at this basement location as well as the Fu Lam chain(4) of buffet style restaurants, is committed to serving more traditional,authentic foods at this location versus food from steam chafing vessels in a buffet style operation. Dim sum is cooked to order at Oriental Fusion as opposed to chariot style delivery where offerings can lose their freshness after circulating around the room more than once. I sampled shumai,beef balls,spareribs in black bean sauce and chicken feet on this occasion. Each item was better than the next one - Moist big firm Shumai filled with shrimp and pork in a transparent skin/ wrap, soft wet beef balls flavored with ginger and garlic and as light/ fluffy as matzah balls, meaty without exception garlic spareribs in a mild black bean sauce and finally succulent skin dominant chicken feet in a sweet sauce. My evening experience was equally impressive. Besides the Peking Duck where the meatier pieces were devoured before I had a chance to engage, a lightly fried tofu dish topped with whole shrimp and a aluminum wrapped steamed egg plant with a souffle like shrimp interior were outstanding. One word of caution is that waitstaff use portable pictured tablets to take orders. There must be printed menus but I have yet to see them. As such I would suggest going online to find the over 120 dishes in the Uber Eats section of the Google forward. Failing this better familiarity, when in Oriental Fusion,do as the Romans would do and ask for help from the informed Chinese staff. In short, Oriental Fusion in the basement of Koyo,an all you can eat sushi restaurant, represents winning the Stanley Cup of Chinese food .
