Can’t really comment on the atmosphere as I ordered a take away coffee but I’ve been wanting to try this coffee for a little while as I live nearby, I was disappointed by both the quality of the coffee and the service

coffee is so bad. my friend got hot chocolate and even that was bad so it’s not even a coffee issue this place is just not good and overpriced as hell but a cute study spot tbh

Amazing food and coffee. We got a latte, golden latte and chestnut latte. We got the avocado toast and the turkey sandwich both were great.

It’s a lovely place with amazing service. I ordered the pancakes after seeing the reviews but it didn’t meet my expectations. Although it was good, it seemed too thick and not fluffy enough and the amount of maple syrup was too much for my taste.

My latte was served cold. When i informed the waitress she took my latte and just reheated it and made it much worst. My experience was bad and definitely will not come back. The outlet was not full when i was there, but i can say there is no customer service.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re sorry your visit wasn’t a success. We’d like to explain how we prepare our drinks. Like most specialty coffee shops, we steam our milk to around 55–65°C. That’s the range where milk tastes naturally sweetest and has a smooth, silky texture. Above that, the milk starts to scald, which gives it a flat, burnt taste, so we only go hotter when a customer specifically asks. When you let our team know your latte wasn’t hot enough for your taste, we didn’t reheat it. We dumped the first drink and made you a completely new one, extra hot and free of charge. Because milk tastes different at higher temperatures, the second latte would have been different from our standard drink, which may explain why you didn’t enjoy it. The higher temperature also makes latte art difficult, which is why it looked less put together.

First class in all aspects. Indulgent pancake brunch presented beautifully and tasted same. Wife had delicious eggs and bacon. Excellent coffee too.

Not really what i was looking for! Small cafe unlike the pictures on google. Courtado is super sour, latte is normal. Below expectations 🙃 it smells smoke all the time!

Hey Razan! We are sorry for our square footage but not much we can do about it … for the coffee we’re always happy to re-make if you’re not happy with it. We always have two origins for you to choose from. Not sure what you mean by smoke tho?

I've come here multiple times because I really liked the area and ambience but the past two times the staff have been rude, making it feel like we're not welcome to stay in the cafe past a certain amount of time they deem too long (this is despite ordering multiple drinks, although I don't think that should even be necessary to stay). Due to this, unfortunately, I won't be coming back or recommending the place to others anymore. It's a shame because a few months ago the staff was incredibly welcoming but c'est la vie.

What a gorgeous location! It was really busy but the service was still relatively quick. The sweet potato waffle with miso mushrooms was superb! A massive portion with well balanced flavours. It was unctuous and fresh. The latte, however, was a bit burnt and not as smooth as it ought to be

The 4 of us stopped by this restaurant in the morning of Aug 30 to have a nice brunch. The reviews seemed quite good, so we thought "why not?". As it turns out, it was quite disappointing. If I were to summarize, I'd say it was overrated (as far as quality goes) and overpriced. The portions were relatively small for the price. When I asked for milk, I wasn't given any choice and can swear I saw oat or soy milk being pored into my coffee. What?? I didn't want to make a scene, so I said nothing. Another thing: The staff was not pleasant nor smiling. They were quite robotic in a way, and happiness was definitely not written on their face! My advice: Walk further South closer to the "vieux port" and you'll find a lot more places for brunch, where the plates are fuller and reasonably priced.

Thanks for the honest review - positive or not, it's always appreciated. On the milk, our menu specifies that alternative milks are available, and by default we use regular milk unless you ask for an alternative. About your order, it's possible there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way - either way, if you asked for milk and got something else without knowing, that's not the experience we want, and I'm sorry it happened. On portions and pricing: we intentionally size our portions to be filling on their own but of course it will depend on your appetite. Our pricing is set to reflect what we need to operate the business — not less, not more. We know pricing is always going to be compared across the neighborhood, and while every café's costs are different, we do our best to keep things fair for what you're getting. You came on a Sunday, which can be tricky for the team to keep up with the rhythm and make sure everyone feels welcome. I can assure you our staff is very friendly, just sometimes a little too focused ^^ Whether you decide to give us another chance or explore other coffee shops, we wish you all the best

Milk was spoiled in drink

Thank you for your review. We receive fresh milk deliveries twice a week due to our high volume, so there's very little chance of milk sitting long enough to spoil. After seeing your review, we double-checked our stock - everything currently in use is from our most recent delivery and is good until October 17th, well after we'll have gone through it. Amazing food, very friendly staff. They agreed to keep our bags for us in the back while we were eating before going to the train station. Everything was delicious. Nice atmosphere.

I paid over $20 for one tiny piece of toast. The portions are ridiculously small. Do not waste your money here.

Hi, Thank you for the feedback :) and we’re sorry the portion didn't hit the spot for you that day. A bit of context: everything on our menu is made from scratch using local ingredients, and we price things to reflect that without overcharging. Our regulars actually tell us we could charge more for what we serve! Our smallest plate, for example, is $15.95 for three scrambled eggs, avocado, and fresh sourdough. Though we understand it may not have been enough for your appetite that day. We take portion size seriously and we never heard this before, most of our reviews mention the opposite. But we're always glad to hear feedback, and if you're ever back in, let us know and we'll help guide you to make sure you leave full. See ya!

A very cozy place! We stopped by when it was pouring outside, and I was bright and neat inside. The coffees (we had a flat white and a cortado) were very good, and avocado toast crunchy and nutritious!

Some friends and I were staying in the area and decided to check this cafe out. At first the atmosphere and how the food looked was great and we were very excited to try it out. We are all English speakers with little French experience, but try our best to practice when possible. What ruined the experience for us was when what we ordered was being prepared and we were called to retrieve it, they started mocking our English and repeating the phrases we used and yelling over and over again while laughing. This was very discouraging and disappointing. It continued even after we had picked up our order and were making our way out of the cafe. I hope this was a one off experience, but this was enough to not want to come back and try again.

We're sorry you felt this way, unfortunately you misread the situation. The manager was playfully explaining to the barista that she can come across a little strong when calling out the orders. The manager was repeating what she said so she could understand how she sounded and how it could be said more pleasantly, with a nicer tone and a smile. It was done in a way that wouldn't hurt the barista's feelings, and they had a good laugh about it. We do feel terrible that you thought we were making fun of you — some of the team members don't speak French, and that's just not our vibe, to make fun of people who are actually trying to practice French. We occasionally make fun of the manager's strong French accent when speaking English, but that's about it. We hope you'll give us another go, because you are welcome in our café and we'll let you practice all you want!

Outstanding brunch at Onna! The sweet potato waffle was absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and topped with a perfectly poached egg with a beautifully runny yolk. The creamy labneh, sautéed mushrooms, pumpkin seeds, and fresh salad made every bite flavorful and perfectly balanced. The almond milk cappuccino was exceptionally creamy with a rich espresso flavor. Beautiful presentation, great coffee, and a cozy atmosphere. One of my favorite brunch spots in Montreal!

Amazing cafe serving a wide range of delicious breakfasts and excellent coffee. Staff are very friendly and helpful and menus are available in English as well as French. Definitely recommended, only wish I hadn’t found it until my last day in Montreal!

Onna Café is a wonderful spot with a great vibe and delicious food. The ambiance is warm, cozy, making this the perfect spotfor catching up with friends. The food is fresh and super tasty. Definitely a café I’d happily visit again!
