My husband & I are both of Asian background so we are always looking for high quality Asian food. We were completely blown away on the complexity and yet simplicity of the scallops appetizer. The duck was so flavourful along with the mushrooms. We enjoyed every last drop of the french toasty dessert. Our service was fabulous and we really liked the ambiance. We will definitely be back!

The service and the decor were amazing. But the real standout was the food. We had the five spice duck platter, spicy sesame noodles, the limited time shrimp bao, and the french toast for dessert. Every single dish tasted absolutely out of this world

Oncle Lee feels like someone took a Chinese family dinner, gave it a Montreal passport, and sent it on a very stylish vacation. The food is inspired by Chinese cuisine, but the flavors have that unmistakable Montreal freedom, with familiar things appearing in unfamiliar places 🇨🇳 The sesame noodles, duck, mushrooms and eggplant were the kind of dishes that make the table go quiet for a minute. Everything begs to be shared, which somehow makes dinner feel less like eating and more like discovering a secret together. The cocktails deserve attention too, especially the Soju Negroni. A little trivia for the curious. Oncle Lee is part of the MICHELIN Guide Quebec 2026 selection. Not a Michelin Star, but still a nice recognition from the Guide. Beautiful room, warm service, bold flavors, and enough unexpected combinations to make your taste buds question their childhood memories. Montreal has plenty of Chinese restaurants, but Oncle Lee feels like Chinese food dreaming in French. I am giving it 5 stars even if it’s expensive but worth trying!

Really not sure why this place is so popular. I found it to be overrated and overpriced, and we just stopped in for a drink and a snack. The cocktails had interesting flavors, but for the price I wasn’t totally blown away. Some of the food was also overpriced for what you get. As a vegetarian, I ordered the spicy sesame noodles and was kind of shocked to find out that it was literally only noodles (with too much sauce) and garnishes. I think it was intended to be eaten family-style along with veggie dishes, but the extra sauce was overkill and would have gone so well with some egg and broccoli. I would assume all the veggie dishes have their own sauces/flavors, so it was just really odd to serve a noodle dish without more substance to it, yet enough sauce easily to include other items. My friend had the scallops and thought they were good, but also kind of drowning in sauce with nothing to soak it up or dip in it. For a $109 tab (2 cocktails, 1 app, 1 noodle dish), we walked away a bit shocked and proceeded to have a $5 street taco that was 100x better.

During our first trip to Montreal, my wife and I stopped by this restaurant. We enjoyed the food, especially the five-spice Beijing duck, sesami noodles, and several other dishes. For most of the evening, our server was courteous and the experience was pleasant. Unfortunately, the interaction at the end left us with a very negative impression. When my wife left a 15% tip on our approximately $100 total bill, the server visibly expressed disappointment and dismissive shoulder shrug. I did not appreciate this reaction. A 15% tip on a $100 meal is $15, which I do not consider an insignificant amount for serving a table of two. Regardless of whether the server hoped for a larger tip, I believe customers who leave a reasonable tip should be treated with courtesy and appreciation, not made to feel uncomfortable. The food was good, but the server's reaction at the end overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable dinner. For that reason, I am giving two stars.

I went on a solo dinner and it was such a nice experience. The staff were warm and friendly. The espresso martini was delish with the perfect amount of espresso and cream top. I got their oyster and tuna rice to start which both were excellent. I also got their noodles which was also good and nicely coated with the sauce.

We had a group of 8 for dinner and the service was so bad. She had a very bad attitude. All foods, Hotspot, noodle, mushrooms, taufufa, were so salty. Never come back here again.

Amazing experience at Oncle Lee our waiter Benjamin was so nice and caring never had a service like this before. The food was beyond amazing and so were the cocktails I have absolutely nothing negative to say !

Nice lively place - had a great bday dinner experience. They have a main seating area and a separate garden area. The food was great, highly recommend trying their duck and miso mushrooms. The food was so nice - did even had a chance to take a picture. The service was also excellent. Will definitely come again next time I'm in town

I had a wonderful dinner experience at Oncle Lee on Laurier. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and positive energy. The hostess was friendly and guided us to our table with a smile. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with a cozy atmosphere and elegant red accents. One thing I really appreciated was that, despite the open kitchen concept, there was no lingering food smell in the dining room. The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain the menu and answer our questions. To start, I ordered the spicy salmon on rice cake, and it was absolutely delicious. The contrast between the crispy rice cake and the fresh, tender salmon was perfectly balanced. For my main course, I had the sweet & sour eggplant, topped with fresh coriander and crunchy peanuts. The portions are moderate, so if you have a big appetite, I'd recommend ordering a few dishes to share and enjoy more of the menu. To finish, I ordered the pain perdu, and it was absolutely delicious. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food, the attentive service, and the overall experience. The staff regularly checked on us, cleared empty plates promptly, and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. I highly recommend Oncle Lee if you're looking for flavorful food, excellent service, and a cozy atmosphere in Montreal.

This restaurant was fantastic for a group lunch for a bachelorette. They were so accommodating for all our dietary restrictions - vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free. The desserts were amazing and high tot recommend you get the garlic fried rice, scallops, and the mushrooms.

I went there for dinner date! everything was amazing ! i like the atmosphere! the music in background is a bit loud which makes it hard to have a conversation! duck is chewy and not well cooked! but the rest of the meal highly recommend!

Food taste was really good, but portions were ridiculously small. Even main menu was almost the same size as small appetizers, we are 4 and we ordered 6+ dishes and still so hungry. I feel that every dishes was covered by bunch of coriander to hide small quantities

The service and place is very nice. Had the the tofu dip (8/10) and tartare (7.5) which were probably my favorites. The spicy noodles (7.5) and veggies (7.5) are good. Not a fan of this version of peking duck (6.5). The sauces, daikon, peanuts almost makes it taste like a banh mi instead of the traditional chinese duck. Overall decent for a first time, but don’t expect traditional taste.

The ruby-shiny Michelin plate by the kitchen tells you that you are about to have a culinary experience. I made a reservation on the day of our visit, the bar was the best available. I arrived for an early dinner, and the place was at capable by 7. Full. The bar-seating is not for everyone, high stools, constant traffic behind you, and elbow-to-elbow. Yet, our servers offered a very exclusive service, and they were attentive to every step of the visit. The flavors and the aroma of the dishes were balanced. We tried the seafood lo main plate- that was a platter. And, their signature dish, the duck. The bar makes crafted cocktails that pair very well. I wish you book ahead and get a table!

Great food experience! The Soju Negroni cocktail was excellent; great twist. The calamari was excellent, although not plated well (hiding the calamari from view for the most part). The five spice duck was extraordinary; very creative with all parts contributing to the experience. Wife had sea food lo mein: a great dish as well. Highly recommended.
