We reserved a table for a party of 5 a long time ago, excitedly expecting for a window seat view for this family Thanksgiving dinner. We especially arrived early to secure a window table, and luckily there were at least 3 window tables available (2 for the size of our party, 1 for 2 people), but the receptionist specifically placed us away from the windows. When confronted, she said the window table was paid extra or someone else has requested for it. I asked whether she had admin papers or policy stipulation online and she pretended not to understand my question. Then a guy came in and talked to them in French, and then he placed us next to the window. We stayed there for 3 hours (the courses were terribly slow), and no one had showed up at all to claim the table theirs as the receptionist had argued. I wonder who they decided to discriminate against and who would be their phantom ideal customer worthy of a window table. Forgive me for not having any pictures of the meal, since for the whole 3 hours, I was not in the mood of savoring any food at all; I was fuming and sulking— it became an internal war for self-esteem. Now I feel sort of ashamed that as a middle aged woman I am still secretly wishing for the validation from a receptionist 😂😂
