Cute and cozy restaurant with A+ food. We ordered two raspberry lemonades for the kids, the french toast, grilled cheese, asian salad and the Egg on Your Face sandwich - all were delicious but the standout was the homemade ketchup that came with the grilled cheese. Outstanding!

Great place for lunch. Italian egg and Cuban sandwich!
A bit disappointed. Grill cheese used to be an experience. Now the filling is still very good but the bread is ordinary. More like a panini bread barely grilled. For 25$, I expect better.
Phil Rosenthal (Somebody Feed Phil) visted here, so it was on our "must visit" list for our trip to Old Montreal. Food quality and taste were beyond our expectations. Service was excellent. It was very busy when we arrived, but we were told it would only be a 10 minute wait. We sat outside on a bench, and waited to be called. I admired the ambiance as we were shown to our table. It was full, and noisy, but so much that we couldn't talk to each other. Bonus points for whoever designed the sound system that played 80s music during our visit. Enough speakers to fill the room with sound, and the system didn't need to played loud to be enjoyed. Coffee was superb. Just the right strength, with lovely notes of chocolate. I had the chicken melt, which was incredible. Real chicken pieces, sauce with a touch of heat, and toppings with just the right amount of savoury. Her panini was equally good. The star of the meal was the french roast. Heated all the way through, with the right balance of fruit, cheese, and syrop.
$30 for a single sandwich is crazy. Cost of living here is no joke. Food is not bad though.
One of my all-time favorite places. Food is fantastic, ambiance is great great it feels like you are on vacation at a beautiful european bistro/ café.
Massive disappointment. Snooty and disinterested staff. Overpriced sandwiches that were so greasy they made us feel queasy.
Fantastic service and delicious sandwiches! Ordered their Cuban sandwich and Chicken Melt and for once, my partner and I didn’t swap sandwiches because we each loved ours so much. Store manager was especially kind and understanding when there was a minor hiccup with my order, I really appreciate it. Will definitely be back to try more of their breakfast/lunch menu and pastries! Recommended to all my friends, some of whom ordered sandwiches for lunch too. Happy bellies all around :)
Final day in Montreal had us come across this lovely cafe. Wonderful staff and delicious food. The coffee was the best we had in our short stay in Montreal. Picked up some granola and Muesli as well as the delicious pastries on the way out
My favourite brunch in Montreal! Panini Poached Egg and th French toast were my favourite
We had just landed in Montreal and were looking for a place to eat downtown — and this spot completely made our experience. It was super busy, but the team handled everything perfectly and found us a great table. The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We will definitely be back!
$26 for a grilled cheese sandwich is hilarious.
Lovely place!
Super cute to grab a bite or work with a laptop. Great food, small menu but diverse enough, I prefer not being overwhelmed with choice and having good options. Had the cubain which was delicious. Truly a gem, only upsetting thing is it's not open later so if you're in the area for breakfast or lunch, you can't go wrong here!
Fantastic food and great atmosphere
Quaint and charming atmosphere. We had the chicken melt sandwiches, way overpriced for a simple sandwich on a brioche with no side. We paid $67 plus tip for two chicken sandwiches and a drink. Not worth it at all. Bathroom right next to dining tables is quite unpleasant. Overall probably best for a coffee and pastry to enjoy the charming atmosphere.
This place had been recommended by several people, so naturally it became one of the top spots on a visitor’s must-visit list. After finally trying it, I can definitely see why it’s so popular. The atmosphere is warm, busy, and full of energy, which makes it a fun place to start the day. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. Everything felt well organized even though the restaurant was quite lively. As for the food, it was genuinely delicious. Tex-Mex ( Texan+mexican inspired) breakfast option, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. You can also have vegetarian option for it. The flavors were great, the portions were satisfying, and it was exactly the kind of hearty breakfast I was hoping for. Would add extra slides of bread. One thing to know before going is that they don’t take reservations—it’s strictly first come, first served. We visited on a Saturday morning with a group of four and ended up waiting around 15 minutes for a table, which honestly wasn’t too bad considering how busy it was. There’s also a really cute little shop next door, so you can wander around there while waiting and the time passed quickly. Overall, it’s easy to understand why this place is so popular with visitors. If you’re in Montreal and looking for a lively breakfast spot, it’s definitely worth checking out. Service was quick and efficient, though nothing particularly extraordinary. Still, the great food, friendly staff, and enjoyable atmosphere made the experience very worthwhile.
Nice atmosphere. Excellent service 👌🏽
A lunch well spent at Olive et Gourmando in downtown Montreal on Wednesday; July 1, 2025; which happened to be CANADA DAY. It was a planned school friend’s reunion, and it turned out absolutely perfect. It’s easily one of the best brunch/lunch spots in the city. Even when it’s busy, the line moves quickly, and the atmosphere is bright, cozy, and full of energy with a lively open-kitchen vibe. The staff are warm, attentive, and efficient, which made our gathering even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding across the board. The sweet ricotta was a standout, and everything else—from the fresh, well-balanced plates to the ultra-flaky pastries—was packed with flavor. The coffee is top-notch and pairs perfectly with their baked goods. Prices are on the higher side, but fair for the quality and central location. Overall, truly worth the visit and a place I’d happily return to again.
Absolutely spectacular lunch here! I had the chicken melt with a dull potato salad on the side and a raspberry lemonade. All of it was incredible, and I would visit again next time I'm in Montreal!
The banana bread matcha was excellent! Also really enjoyed the sweet ricotta with brioche.
Great place in old montreal for lunch! Delicious sandwiches as recommended by our tour guide.
Really lovely little spot that felt very welcoming with a friendly team. I ordered the banoffee French toast and it was really, really good! The ricotta so perfectly balanced the intense sweetness of the caramel and banana, and the crunch bits of seeds and nuts made the whole thing a textural joy. The coffee was pretty good as well, although not quite in the same league as the food ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spectacular baked goods and a great brunch spot
