The food here is decent, but the service practices are absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional. I have never experienced such aggressive behavior regarding tips. We had a good meal and left a standard, appropriate tip when paying the bill. However, the staff literally cornered us and demanded more money, claiming the tip wasn't high enough. They essentially tried to force us into paying a higher percentage before letting us leave peacefully. Tipping is a reflection of service and is meant to be voluntary, not an extortion tactic. Forcing customers and badgering them for extra cash after they have already tipped is a massive red flag. It ruined what should have been a nice night out. I will not be returning, and I highly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to be harassed at the payment terminal.

Liked the food, But the service was bad
I always recommend this place to anyone visiting MTL simply because of food quality and price. Recently, we ran a takeout order and the dude forgot the soup. We tried to call the store twice and to no avail; however, the people at the store were very polite, they compensated for the mistake and for that, I truly commend this place 🥹
Popular spot, always a line; food and service fine!
Perhaps it was because of the opening of a new store that the experienced staff were transferred away. This time, the experience of the family of four having noodles was very bad. The noodles were not evenly pulled, and the cold mixed beef they ordered was all connected together. Should the knives be sharpened? As for the service, it was truly beyond description... The time we went there was indeed crowded. After waiting outside for a long time, a staff member who seemed very experienced came out and looked around, asking: Are there four people? I immediately raised my hand to indicate that we were four people. Then I called my husband and children over to join us. At that time, they were watching the chef make the noodles. However, this arrogant staff member then said arrogantly: Just asking, are you not allowed to go in immediately? Then we continued to wait in order for another 20 minutes, until it was our table's turn to have the meal. This arrogant staff member was truly beyond understanding. Since there was no available table for four people that could allow you to go in immediately, why did she come out and ask? Was it just for fun? To be honest, this was not fun at all. Before this, a friend of mine was very angry because she was forced to pay more tips when paying. She swore that she would never go to this restaurant again. Well, I also want to say that this is the last time I'll have noodles from this restaurant.
Amazing mine went fast, take cash and card. Huge portions as other reviews said.
The food is cheap but nothing special. The portion is big.
Phenomenal food!
One of the highest quality noodle shops i have had the pleasure of dining at. Highly recommend. Portion sizes are quite large as well.
🍜 Portions suuper big! Plenty to fill your tummy even in small size. 🥢 Food was good :) Wish I could've finished my bowl (took the rest home and had it for breakfast) 💁♀️ Staff were helpful, usual service 🪑 Seats a bit tight with limited space
Quick noodle stop. Atmosphere is authentic and rushed perfection.
Horrible service, food was not bad. The servers looked pissed to serve us, and as I paid she looked at the amount of tip I gave and forced me to give more. Will not go back to this location
Best Lan Zhou in town.
Popular amongst non-Chinese diners over the years. If you know how to make beef noodles at home or have travelled to China for the authentic Lanzhou beef noodle soup, you will be disappointed with the flavor vs price.
The noodles were good, I think it could use a bit more depth and spice. The portions are VERY generous, super worth the price. I got a medium thinking it would be a regular sized bowl, but this bowl was larger than my face and I had to take like half of it home with me. I would order a small if you eat a normal portion size and are not a big eater. Staff were a bit unfriendly but that's not really unexpected of a chinese restaurant.
Everything was just perfect. The warm ambiance and diverse menu were so impressive. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The staff were very attentive and provided great service. A special place that I’ll be telling everyone about! It was world-class.
Really good a must in Montreal
Busy noodle restaurant at China Town in Montreal, choice of different texture of noodles, taste yummy, fair price, efficient service
Delicious hand pulled noodles, line goes fast
The best Dan Dan noodles, handpulled right in front of you.
Cucumbers are mid. Need better quality cucumbers. Soup is good and noodles are good but consistency of thickness was not the best
Delicious.
What a great experience in this little gem in Montreal. Awesome food, great vibes all around. If you want some great Chinese food while visiting go here!
Nice place, but no service, and food is not of good quality, noodles feel sticky
A must if you visiting Chinatown, the lines are long but once you try the noodles you will be rewarded.
