I felt something in my mouth so i spitted and checked. It was sharp plastic hard vinyl pieces. So i talked to waitress and she said she will let kitchen know. And i didn’t hear anything after that… Usually we can hear at least “sorry” or ask if customer wants new one or refund or explain what it was from kitchen. They didn’t do any of them. We enjoyed vibe here, open kitchen looked clean when we enter, food was good, and waitress was very kind. But we are not gonna go again after we saw how they handle the food safety issue. It was worth trying new place! Hope they handle these situations better next time to other customers. I can see some similar reviews.

I had a burger and coleslaw and both were 10 on 10. The coffee was just ok but the place is a traditional dinner and that's the type of coffee that is served in dinners. The wait staff told us before we ordered that it is a cash only place. Even though I knew that already, I think that it is a smart move to let the customers know up front and not be surprised when the bill comes. Also it was reasonably priced for our day and age which adds to its authenticity in my opinion.
Very good food and great service. If you want to experience movie scene diner setting with great brunch food then this is the spot for you 😉
No interact, cash only. But that's better for the community economy anyway.
We had the JJ Breakfast and burger. Both were delicious. Service was great and atmosphere was nice. Prices reasonable.
Quaint diner, brings me back to the good old days. Simple menu (cash only, taxes included in the price) and the food was delicious. Our server was so sweet and pleasant, made me feel welcome. Strongly recommend!!!
Loved it. Simple food but very well made! From a cook’s perspective, their work space is very clean and organized. Respect! Thank you very much for a lovely morning
4 stars that should be a 3.5 Place is hella cute, quaint and completely unexpected for that part of NDG. Simple menu, but certainly a propos of the small restaurant. Initially service was good, but after food was delivered it was a bit spotty. Asked for some mayo, and waited so long for it that most of what I wanted it on was eaten due to hunger. Wife had the pancakes, which were nice and fluffy but the cold toppings made it just a lukewarm meal. I had the JJ's breakfast, which was nice. Bacon was a bit burnt, but it was simple. Rye toast was a nice touch and the eggs were well made. Certainly a home breakfast, just made by someone else. Tax and tip, including 2 coffees (which don't appear to be mentioned as extra, unless I completely missed it) was $45. I would certainly not recommend going again, nor would I make it part of my rotation, as much as I love non-chain places, but I would not refuse to go.
Love the homey and comfortable vibe. Food is delicious, and very accommodating. We just discovered a new go to and We'll definitely be back soon!.
