It was a wonderful experience and we had a great time and tasted a lot of new things!! We took the 12 course meal, but sadly I was still a bit hungry after the meal which is why I removed a star, but I will definitely come back again (I will just eat a bit before) Thank you!

Such a special evening - the food, service and overall experience was phenomenal. Highly recommend.
We had a great experience at Nama celebrating our daughter’s graduation. The food was incredible and our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about all of the selections. We would highly recommend!
Great first time omakase experience! Sushi part was perfect, and main course with dessert was unexpectedly very good finish. Chef is friendly and you can see he really cares about his job. Thanks for birthday extras!
Omakase experience was very good. The staff was very helpful in recommending saki options and answering any questions.
We wanted to try something new for my birthday last November, and Nama Omakase absolutely did not disappoint. Every piece was meticulously crafted, and you could really taste the care and precision that went into each course. Later, we found out that the owner, GaCong Ruan, was actually our chef that evening — he was so personable, welcoming, and fantastic throughout the entire experience. I came across these photos while scrolling through my phone and it immediately brought back such a great memory. Looking forward to coming back again soon!
Had a really good experience at Nama Omakase + Sushi Restaurant. The sushi tasted fresh, well balanced, and you can tell a lot of attention goes into the presentation and quality of ingredients. Unlike many trendy spots, the sauces and toppings didn’t overpower the fish, which made the omakase experience feel much more authentic. Service was attentive, the atmosphere was intimate and modern, and the pacing of the courses felt just right. Definitely on the pricier side, but worth trying if you enjoy higher-end sushi experiences in Montreal.
A truly excellent and enjoyable experience at Nama. We chose the premium omakase and were told it was 5 courses. The first course came with 3 different dishes and we thought that was 3 of 5 courses. Luckily, it was just the first course and by the time we had our dessert, we were stuffed. From the food to the atmosphere to the service, it was a 5 star experience (coming from someone who has had many omakase experiences and I’ve been to Japan- Japanese food is my favourite. I would classify this as fusion!) My only criticism: I wish there was some uni as part of the set menu.
Great Omakase experience. The service was professional, helpful and efficient. We felt a but rushed in between plates. The food is really exceptional. The big negative point is the music. It was loud and that of a dance club, which for me, didnt go with the sophistication of the dining experience. Overall, a very good time.
Can’t say enough great things about Nama!! We had the Omakase experience which I would highly recommend. The team was also amazing!
We loved Nama! It was amazing food and such a nice vibe inside. GREAT price for what we got and very friendly staff. The chefs were great. Will be coming back.
Freshest ingredients I’ve had in Montreal! Fantastic food, we went for the special promotion they had on entrees annd martinis and we couldn’t have had better. Only note is that their tables are quite small but, the rest is fantastic.
Had a great experience here with their omakase menu. Staff was very friendly and professional, they explained the menu in detail and asked for feedback. The sushi was excellent, the variety was nice and the sushi rice was as good as I've ever had. The wagyu bite we had as an extra was amazing. I also really enjoyed the dessert, a rice pudding with ice cream, really interesting flavor and textures. Great selection of cocktails and wine by the glass. I think you get good value for the money here, definitely a place to splurge. Highly recommended.
What an amaziiiiing experience !! The food quality was the same as in Japan. The chef was excellent and the service was exceptional. We really felt taken care of from the beginning to the end. I highly recommend this place ! Thank you for making this night so special :)
Amazing experience at Nama! We tried the omakase and every dish was fresh and delicious. Great service from Felix and Titouan who made good recommandations of drinks to pair with the food from their selection of sake and japanese whiskeys.
The omakase experience was truly amazing. The quality of food and the service were the best I’ve had in a long time. A special mention to the chefs for the immersive experience !
Delicious and affordable omakase - 12 services at a good pace, composed of two appetizers, 8 nigiris and one meal and one desert. The quality of the fish was excellent, the ratio rice/fish perfect, and the temperature of the rice brought it all together. I’m usually not a fan of foie gras but the small amount that accompanied the duck in the main meal was just perfect, almost like a condiment. Desert tasted very good but I would skip the rice in it as it brought a weird texture (and I usually like rice pudding). Overall great experience and I definitely recommend. Chef is friendly and service is good!
Loved it! Cocktails were amazing and food was so good
Wow, what a place. Beautiful restaurant, stone columns pushing past 5 metres, exposed brick. The kind of room that just feels special without trying too hard. Definitely worth the detour. The staff really made our evening. Friendly, warm, and they know their stuff. Our server walked us through the menu, helped us pick the right wines and sakes , real good advice, not just upselling. He took the time to explain each dish, which made everything taste even better somehow. The food? Really excellent. Fresh, creative, every plate looked amazing and tasted even better. Go. Seriously. And when you get there the DJ. Just trust us on that one.
We celebrated our 10-year anniversary by booking omakase for 2. The chef was really friendly and chatted with us about his culinary background. They accommodated my partner’s allergies and were really thoughtful knowing we were celebrating a milestone. Great for date night or intimate celebrations!
Can’t recommend this place enough! Amazing service, great drinks and the fish was very fresh. Our favourite was the shiromi carpaccio and shift shell crab.
Great chef, great experience, great taste. A true Japanese sushi experience in MTL. The manager is also very good to make you feel unique and answer to your needs.
From the second you sit at the counter, everything feels intentional: the calm atmosphere, the attention to detail, and the way each course is introduced makes you slow down and actually enjoy every bite. It’s not rushed at all, which I loved. The sushi itself is on another level. Each piece is crafted right in front of you, and you can really taste the quality of the fish. ✨ A refined, intimate experience that focuses on quality, precision, and letting the ingredients speak for themselves.
We had a wonderful time for the first Omakase service. The staff is very nice and the chef is super sweet. The people make the soul of a place, and this place has a lot of soul. Every course was great to excellent and the nigiri were on par with top establishment I've had the chance to visit in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto. This is not a gimmick, it's a proper Omakase. Will return, highly recommendable.
I had a phenomenal experience eating there. The duck was my personal favourite; it wasn’t too overwhelming on the palate and nicely paired with the raspberry sauce. The rice pudding was also very enjoyable. The taste profile was very subtle, but equally good. The texture on it was on point! The waiters made the experience even better, offering a very welcoming atmosphere to the customers. Every dishes were thoroughly explained and gave a nice insight on the source of the ingredients. Would highly recommend. Also the espresso martini, chefs kiss.
