I’ve now been to Mucca three times, each time with different people, and every single one of us came to the same conclusion: the meat here is the best in Montreal. Mucca is an Italian restaurant centered around meat, especially the Fiorentina steak, and they execute it exceptionally well. The quality of the meat is outstanding, the cooking is precise, and the food overall is excellent. What keeps bringing me back, however, is something much rarer: this is an honest kitchen. Real cooking, real value, and no gimmicks. The service is also exceptional. The owner and staff provide a level of personal, attentive service that is becoming increasingly rare. What I particularly respect is that they operate with a clear set of principles about how a restaurant should function and how food should be served. For me, this is the real deal — a true restaurant experience that I honestly thought had almost disappeared in Montreal. No gimmicks, no trends — just a serious kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing.

My family and I ordered way too much food and we did not have ANY regrets. The Steak: We had the Florentine and the rib steak, and loved when the owner asked us how we want our steak cooked rare or medium rare because that’s the only 2 ways! My daughter chose the rare. It might be a challenge for some people, we saw table next to us turn back their steak because it was not to their liking. But must remember this is 50 days aged meat from Quebec, aged to where the moisture is not there and there is no “blood” on your plate. Get the rare…The meat just crunches it’s incredible The pasta: Some may say it’s too hard/uncooked. I am usually one of these people, however I remembered the pasta is home made and I really enjoyed it the way it was presented to me. It didn’t bloat me up like other pasta. My favourite was the pesto with FRESH anchovies Dessert: we had the citrus tiramisu and homemade espresso gelato. Tiramisu was excellent, thought the gelato was a little too sweet. Service wise the owner was very accommodating allowing us to taste her wine and serve by the glass as my wife and I have different wine preferences. We want to thank her for the wonderful service she provided, and I kind of miss her kitchens cooking already… PS: If you like skating/hockey there is an outdoor skating rink with nets/boards that is just down the street. I’m bringing skates next time

Top 3 steaks I’ve ever had in my life: #3: After clearing snow for six hours in the middle of a brutal winter storm. My brother-in-law promised me “the best steak ever” if I helped him out. I was frozen, exhausted, questioning my life choices… but that steak? Worth it. #2: After being completely misled into what was described as a “nature hike” up Debar Mountain in NY. Turns out it was a full-on climb. Four hours up, three hours down, no turning back. I survived, barely. My steak at the campsite that night...? Incredible. #1: Mucca in Little Italy. A 50oz Fiorentina, cooked to absolute perfection. No snowstorms. No mountain climbing. No suffering required. Just made a reservation, showed up, and was handed the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. Honestly, I’m starting to think the secret to a great steak isn’t hard labor… it’s just going to Mucca.

This was possibly the worst dining experience my husband and I have ever had. The pasta tasted like it had just been boiled and served without any salt or spices. It took us 1.5 hours to receive our steak, which was sooo underwhelming and it came with the blandest kale and mashed potatoes ever. We genuinely do not understand how this place doesn’t have the worst reviews. We do not recommend whatsoever.

This is my favourite restaurant in all of Montreal, I have tried to keep this a secret to myself because it’s just so good every time and I don’t want it to be impossible to book a table. The service is impeccable, the food is to die for and the ambiance is comfortable but without losing any class or sense of occasion. Bring a big appetite. You won’t regret it

This was easily the worst meal I've had recently—every dish was a disaster. The salad was overwhelmingly bitter, almost tear-inducing, with nothing but the taste of bitterness. When I asked the server, they said "that's how it is." Well, okay… The pasta was bland and greasy, with a texture so hard it felt almost undercooked. The so-called dry-aged steak was even worse—almost impossible to cut, let alone chew. The flavor was shallow, floating on the surface, completely missing the depth and aroma you expect from a proper dry-aged steak. Dessert? I can only sigh—no words. I finished the meal out of respect for the food, but it was truly torturous. Service was hard to evaluate—nothing stood out positively. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place.

Sorry for the blurry picture. Steak was incredible obviously. But you definitely need to be someone who likes it more on the raw side. We ordered medium rare- im not an expert, but the steak seems more on the rare side to me. We didnt mind at all because we like steak rare anyways. The pasta was just okay, i wouldnt order it again. The ice cream was also lovely. Nice quiet spot for a date night.
