Love this place! I’ve been a few times for both brunch and dinner and the food is always delicious with generous portions. Great atmosphere, amazing service and easy online reservations, even for larger groups. Perfect for any occasion, from date nights and girls’ nights to family outings with little ones. Just a heads-up though, there are stairs to access the restaurant, so keep that in mind if you have a stroller or reduced mobility. Bonus points for having a parking lot. Overall, highly recommend!

One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. McKiernan needs a serious reality check. The customer service is horrendous, and the restaurant’s claims of being accessible are, frankly, misleading. Let’s talk about accessibility. McKiernan apparently considers itself wheelchair accessible, but try arriving with a wheelchair or even a baby stroller. The designated entrance for the elevator has no downstairs buzzer (for McKiernan specifically on the buzzer name) or direct way to contact the restaurant. You can stand there calling repeatedly, but good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. So yes, technically there’s an elevator. Congratulations. Unfortunately, it’s completely useless if nobody lets you in. We had to call a random company on the buzzer to buzz us in with the baby since McKiernan would not do their job. An elevator that customers cannot access isn’t accessibility. It’s decoration. And the lack of consideration doesn’t stop there. If you organize a party, apparently even bringing your own birthday cake is too much to ask. Because why would a restaurant want to make a customer’s birthday celebration a pleasant experience? Between the abysmal communication, unresponsive staff, ridiculous accessibility arrangements, and inflexible policies, McKiernan seems to have forgotten one very important detail: customers are the reason this business exists. Accessibility isn’t a marketing slogan. It means accommodating people with disabilities, wheelchair users, parents with babies, and anyone who cannot simply walk through the main entrance. I genuinely believe this establishment deserves to be looked into by the appropriate authorities in Quebec to verify whether its accessibility arrangements actually meet applicable requirements. My advice? Save yourself the frustration and spend your money somewhere that understands the basics of hospitality, customer service, and human decency. McKiernan: You can have a nice restaurant, but if your customer service is this ugly, none of it matters.

The worst customer service ever. They never answer their phone. Won’t even allow you to bring in a cake or your own for major celebrations with 20+ people. Can’t accommodate seating even when we brought our sixth month old baby. Go elsewhere! This place is a nightmare

The food was excellent but the chicken surprisingly was what would have me come back again. The gravy! Makes sure to get extra gravy and the parker house rolls to soak it all up.

Absolutely loved our night at Mckiernan. We were a big group for a birthday and the staff were super accomodating, they offered pregancy-friendly alternative to the fixed menu for every course (when needed). Food was delicious and ambiance was amazing.

We came to McKiernan’s for our first meal in Montreal after navigating passport control and checking into our hotel in Griffintown. We pulled up after dark and took a moment to figure out the dining room is upstairs. The room has high ceilings, filled with signs and other memorabilia, and has a nice atmosphere. The service was excellent from the friendly and efficient hostess who seated us to the wait staff and kitchen team who delivered our food. And what wonderful food it was! We started with the Brussels sprouts and the green salad with apples, followed by the trout Colbert and the pork schnitzel, with an assortment of amazing house made filled donuts (strawberry filled with powdered sugar, Tiramisu with cocoa powder, and Boston cream with a dark chocolate glaze) for dessert. We’re planning to go back for Sunday brunch before we leave this weekend, that’s how much we liked it. Thanks for a wonderful introduction to Montreal!

Brussel Sprouts Diavola simple sensational. We were a group of 10 and ate family style, there was plenty of food and all of it very tasty. Good service and nice atmosphere..

An absolute MUST! Dishes full of flavor, generous portions and easy to share! Highly recommend to come as a group of at least 8 to take advantage of the group menu and get to taste a little of everything. Price is also very much on point really get your money’s worth here!!

I’m addicted to the gravy. The food the I’ve tried are all exceptionally good. And the service is always great, very warm and energetic staff. And well knowledgeable of the food they serve which is very professional. Lastly, it’s spacious. These are the few restaurants in Montreal that you don’t hit others when you pass through, or your butt graces someone else’s table, or hear each other’s conversation down to its punctuation.

I’ve been going to The Dining Room for almost five years now, and the experience has always been exceptional. More recently, I started using them for corporate gatherings as well. After placing two larger corporate orders, I can confidently say their service is just as impressive. Everything is always packed perfectly and ready on time for pickup, which makes the whole process incredibly easy. What stood out to me most was how careful and accommodating the chef and team were with dietary restrictions. They really take the time to understand each request and make sure everything is handled properly. I would absolutely recommend them for larger orders, private parties, or corporate lunches. Amazing food, an incredible team, and consistently exceptional service.

Once again, an amazing time at Mckiernan. This place never disappoints!!! Mckiernan is officially my favorite restaurant in Montreal. The food is wholesome, fresh and tasty. Marvelous service and ambiance is warm and welcoming. Dress up or dress down, this place is for everyone. Highly recommend!!! Thank you to Mateo our wonderful waiter for birthday brunch today :)
