Nice beer selection and my impression is that the servers and bartenders care about doing a great job. The food was good. Great atmosphere. Live music most nights is enjoyable.
What guests say about Mckibbin's Irish Pub
A lively downtown Irish pub, often appreciated for its atmosphere, friendly staff, and events like comedy nights, live music, and games. Several customers mention good beers and a few well-liked dishes, while others find the food inconsistent depending on the item. The place can be very busy, with occasional waits, noise, or less consistent service. Some reviews also mention high prices and occasional issues with cleanliness or hospitality.

Excellent place for a beer and a bite to eat
I went to watch a Habs game. I got a table that was free. I sat there for 15 mins. Then an employee came by and said sorry the last customers weren’t finished with the table. You have to leave. 1. Why didn’t the people tell me? 2. Where were they for 15 mins. 3. There were no people. When I left, I didn’t see anyone waiting for their supposed table. So, thanks for ruining my Habs game and making me scramble at the last minute to find another place to watch it.
A good place to hang out with friends in Friday night
Was on the second floor for an event, took long to order/get drinks and food. Finger food was provided and no utensils or napkins were to be seen. The booth we were in was slightly slanted.
I will unfortunately never ever step foot in this establishment ever again after being a customer for over 15 years. It took me a while to write this review and didn’t want to resort to this hut after sending email the night of the incident I never got a single reply and I’m still absolutely disgusted and get nauseous every time I think about what happened last time I went there on March 30th. We were a group of 6 that stopped by for drinks after having dinner close by, few minutes after paying our bills when we was finishing my drink to leave the ceiling started leaking on me from upstairs, directly all over me and my arm and clothes, and it was urine, urine was leaking all over me from upstairs, when I told the staff about it they offered no apologies they were very shocked and turn off the lights so no other people in the establishment could see what was happening. I was very very shocked myself and didn’t really know what to say or do, we left very shortly after that so I went home and could wash myself and changed clothings, I send an email that evening, it was unfortunately 100% urine that peaked on me, I remember seeing the spot on the ceiling we could see it happened before, I’m unaware if the issue has been fixed since or not since I sent email in the hope to at the very least get an apology about the incident and never got a reply about this. The lack of response push me to this day to write a review, I was hoping I didn’t need but I’m still to this day absolutely disgusted and traumatized by the incident and will never spend a single dollar on this place ever again due to it.
Pretty good food and super friendly staff. A place to return to!
Best staff ever!
Good service and atmosphere.
Went on a game night, just too busy. But the food and the staff were fantastic
Really good Bar but don't stay past three some regular client thinks he works there
Classic Irish pub , price on a pint of Guinness is kinda steep compared to other establishments
The perfect spot for Guinness and soccer! I did not try the food as footy was on the TV! Friendly staff are very welcoming!
Great place to see a hockey match. I recommend to arrive early to catch a table. The potato soup is a must and of course the chicken wings. If you are like spicy, the spicy sauce it’s good, not so spicy but it helps. They say that at 10 pm a group plays and it gets even better so I’ll have to come back.
bouncer was really rude on saint patricks day
Great selection of taps and AWESOME genuinely friendly staff behind the bar. The only downer on this past Friday night was the band - patrons where moving away in droves and groups walking in made a u-turn right out. My understanding is that the staff did speak to the them to adjust their levels i.e. you're at a pub not metalfest and that they got blown off. Also they were playing funk and disco classics at 45 speed when it should've been 33 1/3. Who booked them? I mean a pub equals classic rock and Great Big Sea or even Dropkick Murphys. We moved downstairs which was nice and quiet with a pretty big tv (Jays opener). I've been here a few times and it's iconic but cam on! On a bright note: The pint of Guinness was pretty good.
A staple in Montreal. My favorite Irish pub, period.
Good aesthetic and service. Shame the food and drink were underwhelming. The Guinness was badly poured and so was bitter and thin, and the poutine was smaller than explained by the waitress and swimming in a gravy soup. (Note: many of the whiskies and scotch on the menu were unavailable. :/ why not remove them then?)
My review is very specifically showing up when it was super busy and crowded. While it chilled out before we left it was a little chaotic. The food wasn't bad the, the Guinness burger was really good and the leek and chicken pie was delicious, but neither was out of this world (though the first bite of the burger was close. With all the busy the server was on top of it, while the crowd felt a little over whelming when the kitchen missed our order it was fixed quickly and dealt with by the server. I would try the place again when calmer in a heartbeat.
Went for St. Patrick's Day and it was AMAZING. Had an awesome night; beer was great, band was super fun, and the upstairs DJ played great songs. Since it was St. Paddy's day, it was quite packed, we waited in line a couple of minutes to get in, but nothing too long. Vibes were very fun!! Overall, a wonderful night!
Went here recently and it was a lot of fun. The staff were friendly and there was a decent age range to the crowd which me and the live music was good. I will definitely be going here again soon
damn this place is mega overpriced, they charge shots as mixed drinks what the hell? incredily sub par sevice as well
The feature poutine was fantastic, the atmosphere is great, 100% see you again
This great pub is located in the heart of downtown. They offer a variety of nice beers and cocktails, live music occasionally, and weekly comedy shows. I also highly recommend their ciders!
A pub with bad atmosphere, careless staff, and poor management the owners clearly dont care! Not worth it at all!
