When asked for a cup for a small child’s ice cream cone was told is was against policy due to costs. The advice was to pay for a sundae and customize it to remove the chocolate or caramel (so the customer should pay $1 extra for a topping they don’t want instead of the restaurant giving a 10 cent cup). Many McDonalds have a customize option on the ordering kiosk where you can choose to get your cone in a cup. I would gladly do this and McDonalds can keep their 10 cent cone in exchange for giving me a 10 cent cup. I probably could have carried my 4 drinks to our booth, but instead requested a drink carrier, as I wasn’t about to save this McDonalds any more money. I also noted about 20 people refilling their cups despite signs saying no refills during the ten minutes I was eating. If they want to maintain their profits why not have employees fill the cups behind the counter instead of losing hundreds of liters of drinks every day? Might cut in to your profits more than a kid who isn’t old enough to hold a cone requesting a cup.
