Au Mazot Suisse is hands down my favorite meal in the world. My family and I have been coming here for decades—even back when it was under the previous owners—and as an adult, I’m so happy to see it’s not only still around and better than ever. It’s become a yearly tradition for us, and every time we go, the owners truly make it feel like such a special experience. I always order the table d’hôte with the filet, and we have to add the raclette and cheese fondue for the table (even when they gently question if we’re ordering too much… we always finish it 😅). It’s 100% worth it. And dessert is an absolute MUST. Even when we’re convinced we have no room left, we order it anyway and we’re always glad we did. The Toblerone chocolate fondue is my favorite. You do have to wait a few minutes for the chocolate to heat up, but honestly, you’ll appreciate that extra time to digest and make a little room. Everything here is made with the freshest ingredients, and you can truly taste the quality. The atmosphere is cozy, the smell when you walk in is incredible, and I’ve never found anything else like it anywhere. Just a heads up—the overall experience is meant to be enjoyed slowly. For larger groups especially, plan to be there 2-3 hours since cooking your food in the oil takes time. They’re only open certain days during the summer (which is understandable given the menu). If you’re anywhere nearby, especially in the mountains, it’s absolutely worth going year-round. Winter is busier, so I recommend calling ahead for a reservation. This place is a must-try. 10/10 every single time.
