Amazing food, excellent service, and chill vibes.. we're regulars here now and have never been disappointed. They have a halal menu and the flavors are insane!!
Reviews / Ratings for Matjip - BBQ Coréen
I lived in Korea for about 8years and have learned to enjoy their meals. The first time I eat at this restaurant, I felt like i was in Korea. The taste reminds me of all the meals I eat in while I was in Korea and their hospitality is great. Sometimes practice my korean language when placing an order.... and they are always wow by it and excited to see a foreigner speak their language 😄.
We ordered the Wang Galbi (half) chicken and the Dakgalbi. Both were very delicious and was enough for two people. The chicken was super juicy and crispy. The sauce was not overly sweet. It tasted in between honey garlic and soy sauce and it did not feel greasy. The dakgalbi was very hot once served. It was very flavourful. I wish there were more varied ingredients such as potatoes or cabbage just like the ones I’ve had in Ontario. This one was strictly chicken and rice cakes.
Always great food here. We had the seafood tofu pot, the fried chicken combo plate, and the seafood pancake. Everything tastes great and the prices are good. Best Korean restaurant and is great value for the price.
I absolutely love Matjip — I’ve become obsessed. The spicy stir-fried rice cakes and fried chicken are unreal, and the beef bulgogi bento box tasted amazing. This is my go-to spot when I come home late from work — it just hits the spot every single time. Comfort food done right, full of flavor and always satisfying. Highly recommend!
I am at a loss - we walked in at 8:15 pm on Sunday, January 11th and the place closes at 9 pm. We walked in and were told that we couldn’t dine-in, which is fine as we wanted to take out. We were ordering at the take-out only screen, and the man behind the counter says “oh shit” and then taps the screen to look at our order. Then proceeds to momentarily go to the back and then I ask “is everything okay?” And he says: “we turned off our machines.” So, basically - we walked in 45 minutes prior to closing and were denied food and service. Nice. I have trust issues now and won’t be going back.
Excellent fried chicken not gready at all and perfectly cooked. All our dishes & appetizers were delicious . We don't live close by but this place though very casual atmosphere has excellent food. Great service, good prices . We ordered a lot of food so even had leftovers for the next day .
This small eatery serves authentic Korean flare. Respectfully staff, delicious food, good potion for the price.
